Consider something like 70% of our oceans remain unexplored there could indeed well be other large marine animals that may have the capability of remaining in one place but if they are mammals they are always going to have to return to the surface for oxygen. Apparently 86% of the planet's species are still unknown to us.

Yes, they are small, very few large creatures are unknown, and if we don't know of any that stay in the same area then its not likely.
