I'm just answering the OP.
And I don't believe it's only Christians that would refuse to welcome
the dishonesty of such a flimsy strawman argument Buzzy. How is it
you"ve determined that the reason you haven't seen God is the same
reason you haven't seen Santa Claus? You haven't seen me either does
that make me like Santa Claus? How is absence evidence of anything?

Furthermore why wouldn't any Christian want atheists in their thread or
on their site anyway? I love to point out how the unbeliever looks
ridiculing and mocking everything others believe. When they haven't
got any explanation for existence what so ever. And when they try
they all end up at some point that is just far more perposterous then
anything they were ridiculing in the first place. Looks really childish
to me. And to see most of them strut around as if they have it all
figured out. Now how sick is that? It doesn't look intelligent, in
fact it doesn't even resemble anything adult. Maybe atheists get
bent cause believers have no interest in their threads?

thats very noble and nonjudgmental of you, mr devious.

Just so I understand.......You agree that mocking non-believers does NOT make you look smart?

uh, that was sarcasm. or, if you will indulge me...tzarchasm? LOL!

there is nothing noble about what you described. its rather hypocritical, actually. your solution to ridicule and mockery...is to ridicule and mock right back.

Something that isn't even true? GTFO!

Do you read the words that you type? Or, are using some talking program and your computer records the first thing that comes out of your mouth and then "Sends"?

i invite anyone who doubts me to review your posting history.

but this thread isnt about you, so lets return to "Why do non-Christians come here?" Here's why -

It is sometimes entertaining, isn't it?

And very informative. See, that's the thing: information.

This morning I was browsing patheos.com, and there was a slide-show thing: 9 Religions You've Never Heard Of

(An extraordinarily good website for all things 'religious.' Check it out, really!)
There is so much about this world, and the universe we just don't know - or for that matter, understand.

There are myriad ways that people cope with this 'not-knowing'. No "one version" is the only way.

"There are hundreds of paths up the mountain, all leading in the same direction, so it doesnt matter which path you take. The only one wasting time is the one who runs around and around the mountain,
telling everyone else that their path is wrong."

Hindu Teaching

source
This makes more sense to me, randy, than the "Jesus Only" thing.

I know I do the same thing....but only at the base of the path where parents are brow-beating their children with fear of hell and feelings of worthless hopelessness.......

Everyone else, meh - go your own way.......
but let the kids grow up without being told "THIS IS THE ONLY PATH UP THE MOUNTAIN" even though there are hundreds of others..... Because, for them - well, it might not be.

No indoctrination of small children. That's all I'm asking.

TextSome members (myself, at least) feel it is our duty to point out that what it says in the Bible is not PROVEN FACT.

Exactly. There is much in the bible that is not proven fact and also there is much in the bible that is proven fact. To me you do seem confused as to which are and which are not facts just as you seem confused in other avenues. So it is your duty, as you have declared, to point out the errors of translation, transliteration, and interpretation of the Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, Latin, as well as many other bibles? Is not that what you have declared?

This in itself shows me your self grandeur and perhaps more problems. Also you need not trouble yourself with proving facts in a theological discussion. You have answered your own thread and have openly shared the reason non Christians feel their need to destroy. Self Grandeur could be the answer to your thread. You seem to need a good teacher such as
Disraeli who is a brilliant author of biblical literature. My opinions of course.

We are in agreement ma dame! I bet you didn't know that's
how I grew up. Of course most parents will try to plant seeds
but my parents never once took me to church. And I do agree
with you.

This made me think of The Chicken Dance from EdTV.

It doesn't look intelligent, in
fact it doesn't even resemble anything adult.
Indeed, it does not. It doesn't resemble anything adult when a "Christian" posts a thread and forbids non-believers to enter it.......
so, yeah - we do the chicken dance because we trolled a "Christians only" thread?
Right.

Maybe atheists get
bent cause believers have no interest in their threads?

lol!! No.

Believers in fact, do have interest in non-Christian threads. Fact.
We aren't that large of a core community here. We all intermingle. Like it or not...it's called "society" (as in social) and "community" (as in commune, communion, common, communal, etc)..................look up the roots of those words for more info.

Love ya

Well, Hi there again, Seede.

Appreciate you spending the time and energy to bother responding again....
I shall reciprocate forthwith:

To me you do seem confused as to which are and which are not facts just as you seem confused in other avenues.

I'm versed on archaeological 'finds' and 'studies' - I keep track.

So it is your duty, as you have declared, to point out the errors of translation, transliteration, and interpretation of the Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, Latin, as well as many other bibles? Is not that what you have declared?

Indeed, it is.
Being a linguist, I feel qualified to do just that.

This in itself shows me your self grandeur and perhaps more problems.

How's that?

I speak English as a native language. I started learning Spanish at age 8. I became fluent...and I understand how closely related the Latin-based and Germanic-based languages are, and am able to read them all sufficiently. My education allows me to understand the roots of words, and how misinterpretation happens. Not just can happen, but does happen. Translation is a very, very nebulous thing. Nothing you can say will convince me otherwise.

Also you need not trouble yourself with proving facts in a theological discussion. You have answered your own thread and have openly shared the reason non Christians feel their need to destroy.

Destroy what? Illusion? Misunderstanding?

Self Grandeur could be the answer to your thread. You seem to need a good teacher such as
Disraeli who is a brilliant author of biblical literature. My opinions of course.

No, self-grandeur is not the answer. And despite your prescription, DISRAELI has summarily dismissed me and many others as potential students. He's not interested in question-asking pupils.

So - what is your reason for the hostility you exhibit?
You seem to mistake "education" for "assault."

For my part, I prefer to laugh and keep watching......

"can't cry all the time!" the world's worst boyfriend said that to me once. Whole 'nuther story.
