Maybe cuz most cops are white? And he was not unarmed.

Is it a crime to be armed?

Is it a crime in that state to carry a concealed firearm?
Did he have a permit for a concealed firearm?
Yeah, it might be a crime.

It is not a crime to carry a concealed firearm. Secondly, they had no way of knowing whether he was legally or illegally carrying.

And lastly, we have no idea or proof that he was armed. The fact that the cops lied about what happened for a whole year until this video was released says a lot. If they have nothing to hide, why did they lie? Why did the cop shoot his partner and lie about it?

Looking at your post history you have a clear agenda.

You like to stir the pot.

I never defended the cops in this thread.
I said they should be charged.

And every state has laws about carry weapons.

You need a permit to carry concealed in LA. He would have been legal if it was open carry... You can legally conceal a pistol with a permit but you cant legally purchase a butterfly knife in that fine state I was born in. Ive been pulled over by 10+ cops for riding with headphones on (ie they thought I was selling drugs) in LA, they are big overreactors. if I had an illegal gun on me Id likely have been shot too, legal or not most people know cops dont like guns or runners. If you lead two idiot cops into the position of putting your life in danger you my friend have a third of the blame to share. That being said WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TASERS??? We did pay millions of tax dollars to be electrocuted instead of shot what happened there???

The discussion should be about two cops killing this guy, not the color of their skin. Would it have been different if the cops were black?

And people wonder why racism seems to be on the rise lately. SMH

If I remember correctly, the man's family says that the cops planted the gun.
On the earlier thread, some posters were convinced by watching the video that the cops did plant the gun.

"White Cops?"

Deputies Jose Ruiz and Albert Murad (Hispanic and Arab/Muslim respectively) don't seem "white" to me... As a matter of fact, they sound like perfectly good "victim" names in any other scenario. Love the way the SJW's can move the bar and re-frame the narrative to suit their needs.

Carry on #ColourdDuJourLivesMatter and all that...

The same people who are saying the man who was murdered was "in the wrong," are the first to remain collectively silent whenever it comes to light that these police officers lied about the man shooting the officer.

Also, the suspect didn't have a gun.

I've read the article(s) posted, he did not have a weapon. They claimed he had a weapon that he used to shoot the police officer.

That was a fabrication, it never happened.

Why are people so naive to think that, "Oh! Well they lied about that, but they were telling the truth about him having a weapon!"

I have an ice farm in Alaska I could sell some of these people.

With the race aspect tossed aside, is this a clear case of the police over-reacting?

I believe this has the potential to cause these officers some problems. We will have to wait and see.

They obviously overreacted.
Maybe next time don't run from the cops with a concealed weapon.

Well if it was concealed how did they know this? More importantly since when was it illegal to ride with headphones? Oh thats right he didn't hear their "unlawful request to stop". therefore shoot to kill.

I'd like to get some more information before I jump to that extreme.

It's more than over-reacting.

These two officers created an elaborate narrative regarding the suspect shooting one of the officers, turns out - it was the cop who shot the other cop, and it is clear in the video - you can hear him say, "I didn't shoot nobody, I don't have a gun."

Yet - somehow, in some strange, alternate dimension that is merging with this one currently, the main denominating factor and moral of this story is...

Drumroll please...

ITS RAAAAACIIIIIISMMMM!

He didn't have a gun.

The hypotheticals on "does concealed carry warrant the death penalty," has no relevance here.

He did not have a weapon and/or GUNZ.
