Koko the gorilla gives New Years message , "Man stupid… stupid! Koko sorry, Koko cry"

Koko is a female western lowland gorilla who is known by many as the Gorilla who can speak to us through sign language , this is her New Years message to the leaders and peoples of the planet.

"I am gorilla, I am flowers, animals. I am Nature. Koko love man. Earth Koko love,"
"Man stupid… stupid! Koko sorry, Koko cry. Time hurry. Fix Earth! Help Earth!"

I hear you Koko , unfortunately those in control are deaf and blind to all except money.

You old hippy chick you have lost a lot lately and it has been a few hard years for you but we are trying you know not all of us are bad and many fight the good fight.

What an intelligent, thoughtful gorilla. She could just be mimicking what she has been taught. Or copying someone outside of view. Why would they teach her "man stupid"? Or "Fix Earth"? Or "Help Earth"? Coco only knows what she has been taught so doing what she has been taught isn't like it is her thoughts. I just feel like there is much more to this than what we are shown.

I feel like this is going to be embarrassing for people.

Yes that's what it appeared to me.

I am deaf who use ASL. It appeared that Koko used the same sign for both words dumb and man LOL.

I wouldn't put it past the Govts of our world to swap out the polar bear for Koko as the poster child of global warming.

Koko would be a great poster child for anything she is a wonderful cousin of ours.
If I had a bucket list I would want to meet her she has a profound effect on everyone she meets.

Perhaps she has a grasp of sign language (over 1000 words apparently) but creating a monologue is beyond her , we all need help occasionally.

Wow.

That's a little harsh. I am not sure how much Koko was led, but she has expressed her own thoughts. I have watched every Koko video. She named her pet kitten All Ball and was very upset when All ball was hit by a car. She can understand some spoken speech as well as ASL.

It's a message I would think she would agree with, nonetheless.

I can't find the article, but there are a couple of devices being made that are meant to translate dolphin sounds. One works on wifi. The word they first identified was sargassum, a seaweed dolphins and trainers use together.

But I hope they don't find that to be the meaning of everything lol.
