My initial impression is there a great difference between PhotoImpact and GIMP although not related to the ability to perform tasks rather a steep learning curve with different layouts, menus and vocabulary used. The quickest way to learn is to search the task you are doing. There are many simple explanations and also videos.

Coral acquired PhotoImpact from Ulead. They still provide X3 as a download although old licences will not work, you have to buy a new Coral license. Like you I lost my original disc. It took me a while but I found exe files of the old X3 generic programme and also the software additions.

If you have an original key I can upload the software to my server for you to download.

Ok. I guess I'll be checking out some videos if I d/l GIMP.

And thank you for the offer, but unfortunately I don't have the key either. I think it's on the envelope the disc is in... Wherever that may be. But if for some reason I do find the key before the disc then I'll let you know.
