A new study by Lomonosov Moscow State University has found that the sun has grand cycles every 350–400 years.

Scientific report Link

The study also found that every 90 years the number of sunspots can drop by half if it coincides with the end of a sunspot cycle. Likewise sunspot activity every 300-400 years can drop near zero. They project decreasing activity for solar cycles 25 and 26 coinciding with the end of the previous 350–400-year grand cycle and project increased solar activity increasing from cycle 27 onwards as the start of a new grand cycle with an unusually weak cycle 30.

A weakened solar magnetic field also affects the strength of the earths magnetic field. Our earths heliosphere isn't able to protect us from solar or cosmic radiation as well as it has done in the past so smaller coronal mass ejections from the sun can have a greater effect on electric systems in orbit and on earth. Anyone wanting to keep abreast of possible dangers from CME's can sign up to SuspiciousObservers channel on youtube

Although we don't fully understand the ramifications of sunspot variations on earth's climate many studies confirm a strong correlation between cosmic ray flux and cloud height. link. A weaker heliosphere results in more galactic cosmic rays reaching the inner solar system which in turn seems to affect cloud height which impacts our weather patterns.

Before the end of the last grand cycle, Europe was experiencing hot summers, and lots of rain (more extreme variations) (link). Then weather patterns changed into what we call the Little Ice Age (LIA) that caused famine and disease in Europe and North America.

Return of another Little Ice Age (LIA) WILL result in massive crop failures that could result in 30%+ of the worlds population starving to death (not including wars as nations plunder other nations for food). Although many believe global warming is a huge threat, its only a mild concern, when compared to the effects of another LIA on human survival. Unfortunately money is being spent trying to prove a carbon tax is necessary when we could be on a verge of a far greater human crises.

Prepare yourself against the worse and hope for the best.

That will be ironic that Global or at least Hemispherical Cooling, will cause all the issues that Global warming advocates claim. Famine War ect. Winter's Coming.

There are cycles within cycles within cycles when it comes to weather on Earth.

No no, the Sun has nothing to do with Earth's climate.Al GORE said so.

Absolutely. The Sun is the only controlling factor to weather and climate on Earth. Only the Sun. Maybe volcanos, but mostly the Sun.

Gore and his carbon tax scheme can suck it.

They have enough problems predicting next weeks weather much less next years which is why we still speculating rather than positive that weather is changing outside normal variations. The cycles within cycles within cycles makes it incredibly hard to unravel without the hardware available to compute a model that has enough information to have realistic results. I just think the sun is primarily driver for our weather. Its fluctuations having far more implications than what science accepts today,

Al Gore admitted to the world that he invented the internet.
That's his Inconvenient truth.
Oh, and his carbon credit trading scam is the other one.

Oh jesus H you are having a fricking laugh. Lets produce a chart that will allow the skeptics to deny AGW. The chart has points plotted from the year 1200 to 3200. This "clearly" shows a cycle and highlighted is where we currently are. So far so good. BUT to the left of 2015 are points plotted that vary within the cycle. No problem, exactly as we would expect and exactly what we would get once we have MEASURED them. From 2015 to 3200 we get exactly the same variability WOW what a fricking model that is. Not only does it predict the cycle but it accurately predicts the variability WITHIN the cycle for the next 1100 years.

What a load of fecking sh.te.

You skeptics are getting so desperate you cannot see how ludicrous your examples are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has actually been a suspected and sometimes indicated through historical correlation, but it's near impossible to get any AGW alarmist to remotely admit that the big hot ball that provides the Earth with heat can have much of an effect on the temperature of the Earth.

Expect today to receive a cme blast
This afternoon
It happened a few days ago
It is heading straight for us

It seems that when a sunspot appears
Hot gasses escape the sun
Venting out of a sunspot heating
The solar system

The earth traps the heat and like a greenhouse
It heats the oceans causing steam to rise
Turning into rain or storms

More venting by the sun means more
Bad weather

I watched a documentary yesterday about
How plankton in the ocean can cause
The rather to heat up making rain
It is natural
The plankton needs food so it makes the earth
Rain causing food to flow from the land to the sea
Amazing
You were saying that we will have less spots
On the sun
making the earth cooler
I agree
But then I thought if there was a huge spot
We are screwed
Imagine the wildest weather on earth

Nice job proving that scientists do factor in the sun cycles.

Seriously, how is it possible that the star named Sun, who provide the quasi-totality of energy to Earth be of any such effect on it?

ANYBODY know perfectly well that the infamously TOXIC and POLLUTING CO2 is responsible for ANYTHING; warming, cooling, increase in hurricane, decrease in hurricane, ocean rise, ocean fall, extreme weater events, lack of extreme weather events, disappearance of countless species, appearance of countless species, famine, obesity, disappearance of bigfoot, increase in bigfoot attack...

Is it so hard for you to understand that the chart says nothing about global warming at all. But indicates a 350 year cycle of the sun when sunspots disappear from the face of the sun. The fact that the last time humans saw a similar sunspot free sun, they also had to deal with the Little Ice Age. Its your choice to ignore or perhaps entertain the fact that civilisations in the past have died off from unexplained climate change not related to CO2. Paying carbon tax cannot end climate change because the only constant in climate is change.

Gotta love climate change deniers.

Y'all the sort of people who would stand with your back to an exploding volcano and claim 'nothing to see here' because you're not looking directly at it.

Al Gore did not invent climate change, he raised awareness of it.

Whether it's caused by human activity or a cyclic pattern is still debatable, but it is happening.

No I do not deny climate change because climate has always changed through history, What I deny is that CO2 is primarily responsible for recent temperature variations which are still not outside the historic norm no matter who tries to convince you otherwise.

Your mate Al Gore purchased 20 oil wells because he has always worked for big oil which has profited greatly from selling gas for the generation of electricity instead of the coal they didn't own. Fracking for gas is releasing huge amounts of methane into the atmosphere which is 30 times more potent as a heat-trapping gas than CO2. Two minutes into the following video you can see an infra-red video of large methane release currently in south California.

Sun cycles such as what we are seeing at the moment are completely new to science given that we really have no historic scientific record to draw on. Simple question, do we understand the effect of the Sun on our Earth? Answer has to be no.

Of course. I watched a video not too long ago on this very topic, wherein a scientist linked climate cycles to lower or higher solar activity for a good period of time. For some reason, I can't locate the video, though, which is frustrating. I'd have sword I bookmarked it, too, but it's missing.

Oh no, no, no no! Gavin Schmuck and them'uns have decided that the science is indisputable, and therefore not up for discussion...so STFU, they know more than even the IPCC, and the IPCC have only been around for a while, and of course their endeavour is no better than for a while, while still more than Gavin Schmuck. E-mails with brown gravy anyone?

The Sun is clearly the most important influence on weather and temperature on this planet, to ignore that would be to ignore the whole concept of a sun-planet system.

Was it the video on this page which also predicts greater volcanic activity during temperature swings.
