Are you in a remote location? Could you have not gone to another cinema? I would have thought that the new starwars movie could have kept them going until the new year.

The month we moved into town the theater here closed up. The month we moved back it opened up again. In between the nearest theater was 45 minutes one way. I know how that goes.

Here, I'll tell you the plot. Evil empire squashes rebellion but at the last second the hero saves the day and gets the princess.

Add a thousand flashing lights, booming sound and stir.

If you waited till it airs on TV you'd be less disappointed.

Yup. Pretty much an Episode IV rehash with a bigger Death Star. Cool Lightsabers, though.

I get the draw. That theme is timeless. Modern industrial sound and movie magic is breathtaking. Once you get older though, you've heard and seen it all, plus you don't hear and see to good anymore, anyway.

Woe is me. I poke fun at everything now to make up for it.

My first experience opening night with the first star wars movie was exquisite. I look back now and think its a stupid movie.

I don't really see it that way, and I really despise SJWs. Maybe he was just asking you to use a little perspective here. I mean, you started an entire thread on not being able to see a movie locally, and not being willing to drive to the next town to do so. When Close Encounters came out I lived on an island with one tiny theater. I drove 200 miles one way to see it. You could see the movie if you really wanted to.

Cheer up. I'm nowhere near a cinema either and, if I was, I got too many reasons not to go to one.

I'm waiting for the Star Wars DVD to come out, then I can put my feet up at home, settled down with tea and chocolate, and watch it on my larger computer screen.

Far more civilized and there's a pause button so I don't need to miss anything if I have something to attend to during the viewing.

You won't have too log to wait - what was the latest big deal? Hobbit 3, I think. Seen it twice (at home) and forgotten it already

Yeah...no..
I'm nowhere near a sjw.
I don't know the local theatres situation, but many small town theatres are owned by local families.
We had one close because they could not afford to buy the new digital projectors required by the studios. The little guys get buried sometimes.

Oh come on! Can't a guy get upset over first world problems any more? Sheesh!

I actually enjoyed it even though they did hit all the previous notes.

I only have one or two small beefs with how they did a couple things but discussing those here would involve spoilers.
