Written by an astrophysicist, this is a song about interstellar travel, relativistic time dilation and the Twin Paradox.

Lyrics on the video.

Came across this song/video a few months ago. If I hadn't been watching the "lyric"s I probably wouldn't have even paid attention. Kinda catchy...at least for me...

A Great Big World - Cheer up lyrics (Album version) in case the video doesn't show...

Careful mister !

If I take this tennis ball off the end of my cane, you'll be mighty sorry...

Ouch!

And just for that, I'm going to torture your soul with this 'spacey' song:

I love Karen Carpenter, but I can't believe she ever covered this song. I didn't think she had a metaphysical bone in her body. lol

Well done Asty. 500 Bonus points. I should have thought of that one, but I didn't.

Pink Floyd = Set The Controls For the Heart of the Sun

While not about space this song was the heart and key to a great show about space..

Bear McCreary = All Along The Watchtower

Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance) = Crescent

The opening verses really cover the space element...

The stars You see in the night sky
Have been dead for centuries
Starlight creates the illusion
Of life for all these years

Now I no longer trust these eyes of mine
The heart must speak to me
In tongues of forgotten voices
In ancient harmonies
So that I can see

Heavens are merely illusions
When You build them high in the sky
And hell is the final solution
For those who have no faith in this life
They are blinded by lies

Here in the garden, fountain of life
Here in the garden of arcane delights
Are born from a womb

Down here the seed will rise
From dark earth to the light
To kiss the sun again

She brings me flowers
To ease the pain
She brings me light
Where only darkness waits

And the more I see
The more life means to me
And the way you love the wild earthly dream
She sings her song for You and me

I don't care what lies beyond this world
All I really care about is you
All Mother Nature's gifts of life have made
Have made this world a paradise for You and I

You must be ancient! Prism? Really? lol j/k. I'm REALLY ancient!

Since someone already posted 'Set Your Controls...' I see your Interstellar Overdrive and rasie you an Astronomy Domine from the first album. Though this is the live version from Umma Gumma.

And here's Clutch Spacegrass for good measure.

Lol. There are so many, this thread could go on forever, I think.

Hawkwind: Silver Machine and Space is deep
White Witch: Class of 2000
Zebra: Who's behind the door
Billy Thorpe: Children of the sun
Steve Miller: Serenade
Montrose: Space station #5

Well done on Spacegrass and AD.

Some great selections there. I could probably go all day myself. I'll leave you with this though since the entire Clutch album is similarly themed...
