What's this all about??

When I signed up, all I did was sign up. No invite necessary! Or phone number, either, as I recall.

Since anyone can sign up to GMail now without an invite, is this thread still relevant? It's been removed from invite-only status for about 2 months now...

If there's anyone who still can't seem to find someone to send them an invite, drop me a U2U. I'll be glad to be of help, I have plenty of invites to put to use.

Yeah, a Mod may as well close this thread.

Anyone can sign up for an account now, and Google now has a list of all your contacts by now.

They know who you are and who you talk to, plus everything you search for. I'm thinking that they've saved every e-mail you've ever sent or received.

They are rapidly becoming the information source for the planet.

That scares me a bit, and yet it seems so unavoidable as they buy up other companies that gather information.

But I'm going off topic, so I'll leave my rant for another thread.

I guess we'll let this thread rest in peace.
