Bouvier...was 9 weeks ould at the time, which makes him 14weeks at present. What a fantastic addition to my family of Mom, Dad, 3 boys - 3, 6 and 9 y/o and Aggie, a 8y/o Husky/Border Collie....and 3 bunnies...full house indeed. Any tips on coping in such a madhouse?

PS, the Bouvier's name is "Chewbacca " ...was just in time for the new SW movie...and true to his name he is chewing everything!

Oh, and one thing to save your furniture.

Get a tube of whats called "lick guard".

It smells, and it repels dogs.

A small dab on a favorite chewable coffee table leg, and they will never ever return to chew. It works. Even outdoors.

But love your puppy and start watching Ceasar the dog whisperer for good help.

But please. Dont beat the dog. They are innocents, and dont understand what they did wrong.

That's a high energy household! Let the older dog teach the younger dog some stuff, and hope it doesn't teach bad habits.
My Shihtzu taught my Bernese/lab puppy to dig....

And then that puppy taught the next new puppy to dig......

Other than that the house just gets so full of puppy loves

Large breed puppies are fun to get lovingly assaulted by when you come home or wake up or even just coming out of the shower is like they haven't seen you in 10 minutes, lol.

a reply to: DbDraad For my retrievers I shoved dried liver in the hollow sterile beef bones then only put them down while I am gone. I pick them up when I return so they will be "special" the next time I need their energy diverted There were 10 dogs so 12 bones stuffed with liver lasted them about 3-4 hours.
