Yes this was in part a seasonal thread but...
....our hearts don't stop beating because a day is ticked off in the calendar.
There are people forgotten and rejected, by them selves, which is the worst fate and others. They are set aside like the odd cracked plate that we use
to feed the cats or put a flower on.
Where ever they are they are just "different", they don't even have the advantage of being the ugly duckling that grows into a beautiful swan, because
they are culled by their surroundings and then by them selves.
Our damn prejudice demands uniformity, so they disappear, become invisible.
We refuse to see the gift they bring.
We, is also I.
Let me be brave and welcome them. Let me open my eyes and see them. Let me know "they" are a part of me I am rejecting.
They are the "wee people" as I call them at church or in town, the ones "others" avoid. The crooked ones, those in odd clothes, those who avoid eye
They are my favorites. That turns me into one of "them" and I laugh at the "others" because we all die and as me and a good friend conclude "We all
smell the same in the "end", "
