Newer Sharia Nations Ban Christmas

Ah, another great example of the freedom that is Islam and the justice of Sharia Law.

These nations are recent additions to the Sharia family and in Brunei's case, they are going all out with the stoning, amputations, etc.

Somalia's government has banned the celebration of Christmas, warning that such Christian festivities could threaten the nation's Muslim faith.

Christmas is not widely celebrated in Somalia, which officially adopted Sharia in 2009, but the odd event was held - especially as an excuse to hold a party.

"Having Muslims celebrate Christmas in Somalia is not the right thing, such things are akin to the abandonment," local media quote Mohamed Kheyrow, a top official at Somalia's justice and religious affairs ministry, as saying.

The sultan of Brunei has issued an edict that threatens Muslims with five years in prison if they celebrate Christmas. Christians are told that their celebrations must remain secret or they can be jailed as well.

In 2014, Brunei implemented sharia law in the nation. Offenses such as conversion to another religion from Islam are now punishable by religious courts. Next year, Brunei will introduce Islamic punishments of whipping and amputation for some offenses and, finally, Brunei will join Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia as nations that stone people to death for adultery or insulting Mohammad or the Koran.

And here I thought the USA was one of the few places saying "Merry Christmas" in public was frowned upon.

Benzi Gopstein of Lehava wrote “Christmas has no place in the Holy Land” on an ultra-Orthodox Jewish website earlier this week, according to the Daily Telegraph and other Israeli media outlets. Gopstein also called on Christians to be expelled from Israel.

Israel's parliament bans Christmas tree display

JERUSALEM (AP) — The office of the speaker of Israel's parliament says he has rejected a Christian lawmaker's request to publically display a Christmas tree in the building.

There have been previous bans on public Christmas tree displays. The mayor of a Jewish town bordering Nazareth has previously refused them, though some Christians live there.

Christmas is a westernised Christian holiday.

Why not ban something that goes against your beliefs, Christians do not have to live there if they do not wish.

If Christians are okay with gay marriage being illegal then what's the big deal with Muslim countries on the other side of the world making Christmas illegal? Both are based on cultural traditions after all.

My country Burkina Faso for example is 60% muslims and you know what,Christmas is more impatiently waited for by muslims than christians(because every christian family will cook and distributed to muslim families,the community as a whole will be visiting each other's house to make merry. And vice versa when it is Ramadan or Tabaski)
So you see we can all live peacefully together.Stop pointing out the extremists as a mirror to the majority.

Ps:And we have Sunni,Shia and Ahmaddiya all living together PEACEFULLY.
