This what you're looking for?

[edit on 7-1-2005 by Gazrok]

I almost overlooked this, the Douglas B-23 Dragon, but where does 'Bolo bomber come from? I've never heard that.

Hints?

1. They also make cars...., sounds fishy...
2. Can't think of one for the company...but like the band UB-40, but change a letter, and one number.

3. A creamy bandit

4. Alexander Graham ____, Oh my, got a few A's on my report card
5. Morpheus as Cowboy _______, numbered like an eagle

EDIT: Actually the B-18 is the Bolo, that just looked like it to me....

My mistake gazrock, it is a B-18, the B-23 was 'sleeker' or maybe I should just make that 'longer'

MiG 15 was before it, I omitted the word 'Western' in my clue, sorry for that but is anyone going to say the name? It was based heavily on Ta-183 research, which shows, as you say.

I thought of a neat clue for number four, you might call it a 'Tinkerbell Triangle'

Tinkerbell Triangle???

Ok, maybe I'm wrong then, I was going to say a Bell OH-4A... (for #4.)

On #1. I'll kill the suspense (I hope) and go with a Saab 29 Tunnan....

waynos: If you could, you may want to take a look at my clues then, in case I'm wrong on any others...

I'm no good at post war era or WWII aircraft, more anything above 1970.

If the quiz goes that high, I might be able to give a few guesses.

Shattered OUT...

No. 4 is a Lockheed Constitution, not Constellation (its written on its nose, above the Lockheed logo)
No.5 is a Focke Wulfe Fw 187 Falcke (Falcon).

Can you identify these aircaft?

Ooh lovely!

As a complete guess I would say that the first one is a Commonwealth Woomera. I've never seen one but I read it was designed as a replacement for the Beaufort and that seems to fit the bill.

The rest of them I have seen before, they are;

2, Commonwealth CA-15
3, Commonwealth Wackett
4, Westland Welkin.

Gazrock, I have been trying to figure out your clues since you posted them

Yes you got this right, the SAAB J-29 Tunnan
2. Can't think of one for the company...but like the band UB-40, but change a letter, and one number.

Don't understand the clue
3. A creamy bandit

not sure, but I can make this fit with the name, is 'creamy' slightly rude?
4. Alexander Graham ____, Oh my, got a few A's on my report card
I think you've got this one wrong, "Tinkerbell Triangle" is a straight forward clue, you'll groan when you find out!
5. Morpheus as Cowboy _______, numbered like an eagle
I don't get the first bit but 'numbered like an Eagle' is spot on

[edit on 7-1-2005 by Gazrok]

Why not just post what you think as no-one else seems to know?

PS what about my first (cryptic) clue, "If we had this we'd end up winners"

sweden, geddit?

Constellation, you are correct!
(dad's company, so you know I had to know that one, hehe....)

Lockheed Connies had three tails and were much skinnier.

I have seen the middle plane before , it is built on a lengthened P-51 frame, but the name escapes me.

I am endeavouring to include more modern pics.

One word of warning, one of the things that appeals to me about these pics is that things MAY not be what they seem! Enjoy.

Thanks to Intrepid for bringing these over from the other thread. This means the ones with the Saab J-29 are Numbers 1 to 5 and the ones above are numbers 6 to 10, please bear this in mind with your guesses. No more to go up until we've cleared these
