I just noticed this error on the label of my Rx bottle. Funny for me, but not for someone that might get confused.

And the fact I took the 3 mg dose (yes orally) instead of the 1mg and I am still awake at 3:30 am is sort of p*ssing me off.
It is generic lunesta.

haha, why do you bother defying our nature. We are people of the night, and WE LOVE IT! Theres two types of people in this world, night breed and day walkers.

There will be plenty of time to sleep when we're dead!

Well... That has potential to be a right pain in the arse.

Sorry, could not help myself.

That's terrible mislabeling. I hope you have remonstrated with the pharmacy on the matter. This sort of error could be the tip of the iceberg. They need to make sure that other misprints have not occurred.

They were closed when I noticed it. I will be calling them tomorrow. I hope to wake up before they close lol

I have always had night insomnia. No trouble sleeping during the day. Trouble is, I have some things to attend to during the day.

If you are wondering how that happens, they use quick abbreviations that in turn will turn into a statement. The code for per rectum and take as needed are very close. I bet the latter is what that is supposed to say.
The pharmacist should have caught that tho.
Oh and the meds don't work great if you stay up and up and about.

It's weird for sure, but it sounds to me like if the oral option doesn't work, try it in the rectum, just 1 tho? Do not exceed more than 1, daily!

Maybe you need to try the rectal option, Reldra. Haha, I dunno, this thread is confusing as Hell!

I suggest vodka. It has to be a much better alternative to all of this rectal nonsense.

OMG....ROTFLMAO! Yes, I whole heartedly agree. When you want to sleep anything rectal is probably out of the question.

ETA
By the way, vodka (all alcohol) cranks me up.

Sincerely though, it's incredibly unfortunate that our ATS family member has been bamboozled by BIG Pharma.

Didn't they get in trouble for mixing up meds once? I think it had to do with a guy's blood pressure medication being mixed up with estrogen pills. He found out when he started growing boobs and his blood pressure was still high.
Insomnia sucks. I've dealt with it all my life. Tonight is no exception.

ETA: I'm a bit giddy from lack of sleep and can't stop laughing at the title of this thread. Sorry. I know it's not funny but I'm really glad that you didn't follow directions.

Medication mix ups are an all too common, and potentially deadly factor in modern medicine. Unfortunately, no matter how effective a preparation might be at solving the problem for which it was designed, unless the patient is given correct instruction, and for that matter the correct preparation, the results can be much less than ideal.

Some mix ups require the services of a proctologist, others a mortician. One can only remain vigilant, and hope that if there is such an error, and it is not spotted before consumption, that the worst which happens is a visit with the former, rather than an appointment with the latter.

It doesn't help that a lot of doctors have horrible handwriting.
