Serious question Kapusta. I know there are many (indeed most are) peaceful Muslims everywhere in the world. However the history of the spread of Islam is a gore tale to match Genghis Khan.

What has changed about Islam since then to remove the idea of the Caliphate and spreading Islam to every corner of the world? Of course I realize Christianity was spread in a violent manner here in the Western hemisphere to the complete destruction of nearly every indigenous culture. I have my criticisms of the Christian church and all organized religions for that matter.

Has anything changed in the interpretation of the Koran or has there been a comparable movement towards humanist values in the Islamic world? Given some of the practices still done particularly against women and gays I am left wondering.

FTR I don't believe that Muslims who have grown up in Western Nations like the UK have much in common with those from say the mountains of Afghanistan. They assimilate the values of their home countries and some of those values have changed little over the last 1,000 years.

Please educate me.

Because moderates ...like Kapusta here, are shielding them wether intentionally or not and we don't want to kill Kapusta,its only a targeting issue,clear up THAT issue and then we can kill them. OR just let Russia do it...

I'm sure you would agree that this is an over-simplified version of accounts, I regularly hold views opposite to yours, but generally I see the truth and the point in your posts. This is one I feel I do not. Not being a di(x but you know full well I was not referring to not understanding Buddhism, but not fully understanding the violence of the Buddhist majority against the Islamic minority. But I arent a bleeding heart, so I see it as none of my business.

May i ask how Kapusta here is shielding them? He has even more reason to vilify extremists of Islam, as he, as a decent human being, is just as likely to be killed by these cretins, but also they are colouring himself as also an evil human, which I doubt he is.

Kapusta isn't participating voluntarily here.
WE ALL understand (AND HAVE understood as enemy combatants in their countries) how the entire faith has been intimidated into submission in the presence of the ones who should die.
WE don't have that kind of intellect...in fact it is enraging, to think of a word to describe them, that we haven'tbeen let off the leash to kill them. It is what we do. NOT hard .
WHAT is hard is the loss of innocents I wonder if the people of Islam celebrate American soldier's suicides as a victory?
HOW much better it would be if they too got the hell out of the way on a clear field of conflict?

At this time it is QUITE clear the ones who need to do the understanding here, Muslims MUST back off sharia law outside THEIR countries or they are claiming target eligibility.
What NOBODY gets is the slow burning Christians are getting existentially pissed as we are under attack by progressives as well.

I see them finally going after Saudis,but DON'T pick fights with demands of accomodations without submission to the laws written in countries they decide to move into. If YOUR religion cannot comply( Like we do with Jews, Buddists and ..yes ..pagans)

If an item of your culture is illegal in the host nation you end up in you will stop it or be prosecuted on that basis.

Not to be rude but I see no answer in your reply. I have has more good friends die in war with the scum than I can comfortable deal with in one go, I understand the need psychologically for retaliation, but how is Kapusta not participating voluntarily? I am FINE with brit troops,but I 'm hardly qualified to comment on them,didn't think I had.
UK doesn't have the cash we do do or the selection to create so many qualified applicants like we do.
We are also more aggressive as people.

I am an admitted leftist though i distance myself from such a title as U.S. leftists are an embarrassment, and i wont no part in it. I agree, Isis legitimises these animals, so i refuse to call them such. I agree wholeheartedly that the terrorists deserve everything they get, and more. Perhaps as an athest ( i know you probably don;t like us but so be it ) i have a few Muslim mates who i regard very highly, so when i see people claim that Islm is the issue i get worked up. I have Islamic friends who were in the U.K. forces but sadly no more.

You might not like it, and that fair, but our opinions are not so different. All i was saying is that i (personally) believe Kapusta and the likes of him are just as a valid enemy of Daesh and other extremists as the military. I would rather the Muslims such as the cats i occasionally drink with (which would be reason for them to be beheaded by Daesh) be allowed to combat extremism in their Mosques and communities than for the youth to go to die in an Unholy war (not that i care for religion personally) without being blamed for teh actions of the scum.

Nah our gun laws are crap as you know, No handguns since the late seventies (without an extended bareel and a stock so pretty much no point) but touch wood not illegal yet! Glad she's living a good life though. Plinking is pretty much limited to a .22, but I'm glad I can still be licensed for that.

Sorry to the moderate muslims. Part of this issue has been secularist/atheist constantly attacking the christian belief system and as expected it annoyed christians. Now we have a religion who has individuals who are attacking in the name of the religion and treat women as second class citizens. And these atheist who mocked christians are trying to defend muslims now.

It really is bizzare.

Really what I want to see is videos of atheist confronting muslims and telling them allah is fake and all that good stuff. I'd grab some popcorn for that.

No doubt bud, better equipment, more funding, your SF and OUR SF are on equal footing, I mean I obviously think our SF are better but I'd both assume and hope you think the same of yours. Still, If I come stateside wanna take me to the range? I'd love teh chance to shoot some decent firearms. Also while I personal;y believe our Sf are the best in the world, I believe the U.S. SF are the best at intelligence and also better trained to kill compared to ours due to a greater amount of time spent in conflict.
