Threats usually amount to nothing more than disruption, here's hoping nobody gets hurt.

Midterm finals...someone didn't want to take an exam they didn't study for.

This is such a regular occurrence, that I am surprised they take these threats seriously anymore. Has a school ever been bombed in the US? If so, did anyone call in the threat before the bomb went off?

First MSM responders.

CNN also has it as a breaking news story.

"combinatorial optimization"? Is Jaime Escalante still teaching?

Terrorists and politicians win when fear prevails.

It is quite clear the US and west in general are completely gripped by fear. Politically sponsored fear at that.

I highly suggest the BBC's documentary "The Power of Nightmares".

The area was declared safe shortly after 10 a.m. and the street was reopened, according to police.

Like I said, threats usually amount to nothing

Also it would be better if the media chose their words better as the article from NBC describes a suspicious backpack but I guess it's semantics, threat for me is somebody giving pre warning to an explosive device going off at defined location whereas finding a suspicious package is not a threat but potential bomb. To me there is a difference between the two but I can understand if people call both as a threat

They're probably using the "better be safe than sorry" approach

BUT the NBC article refers specifically to a backpack and all being safe, no mention of schools shutting down. It was this I was refering to as the LATimes article was not posted when I made my comment.

However the LATimes refers to a called in threat which is different

But I still stand by that threats (real called in threats) amount to nothing but disruption, if people are going to go through with a terror act they usually don't warn people beforehand

They said it was 'Credible' because a specific date, time & place was given.
