Looks like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was hot to trot when they apparently went so far as to actually break laws in efforts to convince people that the Obama backed clean water law was oh-so-perfect.

An investigation by the Government Accountability Office shows EPA operatives used social media illegally.

Another great example of how maniac out of control government agencies can get when jealousy sets in.

E.P.A. Broke Law With Social Media Push for Water Rule, Auditor Finds

The Environmental Protection Agency engaged in “covert propaganda” and violated federal law when it blitzed social media to urge the public to back an Obama administration rule intended to better protect the nation’s streams and surface waters, congressional auditors have concluded.

The ruling by the Government Accountability Office, which opened its investigation after a report on the agency’s practices in The New York Times, drew a bright line for federal agencies experimenting with social media about the perils of going too far to push a cause. Federal laws prohibit agencies from engaging in lobbying and propaganda.

“I can guarantee you that general counsels across the federal government are reading this report,” said Michael Eric Hertz, a professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York who has written on social media and the government.

No big deal here.

The American people are used to it by now, and loving every minute !!

Its good that the GAO found there was a law broken. I don't have a problem with them pushing clean water legislation if they are upfront about who they are. Know they know that they were doing it wrong.

This crap is just old.

The EPA,DOJ,IRS,DHS are nothing but political arms of the white house.

GESTAPO's.

Ever single agency needs house cleaning, and need to do what they were created to do.

Enforce the LAW.

That's it.

Not politic, electioneer, or lobby for the DNC.

Unfortunately for the average person, the LAW is the problem. This enforce the law nonsense overlooks the reality, which is DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

Reality has been infected with legality.

That's when bad things happen. If you allow a government agency to do something OTHER THAN enforce the law (IEdo what's "right"), the potential for abuse becomes astronomical. Who are we to says who's "right" is actually "right"? Would you be singing the same tune if Trump was Pres and he halted all immigration from Muslim cou tries? Something tells me no. Even though it's the right thing to do. Well, according to Trump and a huge chunk of Americans.
