Phrases I HATE!

"Life is not fair"

"Get over it"

"You wouldn't understand"

"Be a man"

"Stop your crying"

"Don't take this personal"

"For the love of god"

"Are you retarded"

I am sure there are many more to add to the list, but why hog all the fun, feel free to add your own!

My single most detested phrase is,

"It'll be alright"

Whenever anyone says this it actually means that they know thay should not do it but are going to do it anyway.

Drives me nuts.

"You always find it in the last place you look."

No s--t Sherlock. After you find it you stop looking.

I say "get over it" a lot and also" go for it"! I admit I say these phrases to my
husband more than here.

"It is what it is"
Really? Is it? Are you sure it isn't what it was? Or might be???

"It's not rocket science."

"It's a no-brainer."

Interestingly, I see both of these phrases as insults to someone's intelligence. Hmmm... I wonder if I dislike them because someone used them on me to insult my intelligence.

Some of those are phrases bullies use, along with…

You make me so mad.

I got your number.

You're gonna get it.

This is for your own good.

Look what you made me do.

Its all you fault.

What is it you hate about that phrase buddy.

It needs a little context to be fully understood.

One is negative and the other positive. Go for it is just giving a little push, get over it implies that something is silly to be feeling. If someone is feeling a certain way because of something they experienced why doe someone else feel it is necessary to tell them get over it?
