I never went to the cinema to watch a sci-fi movie in 3D..

Don't feel bad neither have I.

However I am going to watch this movie in I Max for the first time, I can hardly wait.

Is it just me or does the trailer give away the mothership being destroyed by them on the moon?

Sure looks like it. If you look real close too...they reveal why Smith isn't in the trailer.

He's dead. News snippet shows he (Capt. Hiller) died in a test flight while they were developing the new hybrid fighters.

I think 3D is terrible, you're better off.

Why do you think so...? Does it make you dizzy?

On a weekend of fairly dull trailers I thought this was the better one (compared to Star Trek 3). As a film-maker I do love it when they manage to get as many original cast members back for a sequel so kudos to them on that. ID4 is "A Will Smith movie" so this one I feel does have quite a lot to live up to without him. Quips like "hope you got airbag" and "welcome a earth" are likely to fall flat without big Will! Still, pretty good trailer. Even if the plot does seem a bit yawn, I am definitely tantalized.

Independence Day was about the best sci-fi movie ever after Close Encounters.... and the original The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Wow - just wow.

Those other two movies were deep. Whereas ID4 was made to be a summer blockbuster.

Still, ID4 managed to be a lot deeper than it intended to be, I think.
