II do think that science does a wonderful job overall with the limited set of tools available but feel we are still in the dark ages in understanding our reality. My apologies if you feel that I have unfairly criticised you or science. You are a tremendousness contribution to ATS and love reading your comments. Peace.

How often has this happened to you regarding a hit with prediction?? Thank you for letting us know, friend. I do hope you are wrong...Sounds like your anxiety level is through the roof! Try and focus on your breathing and see if that helps..

In that case, it's not broken. The power just went out and you need to reset the time.

Well it depends on your definition of "broken". With many devices containing computers and electrical components, there could theoretically be some type of a glitch, virus or malfunction that would cause a digital timekeeping device to constantly blink at 12:00, or any other specific time, which does not involve the battery running out. (Edit- I mean "power going out", not "battery running out", sorry. End of edit.) I'm sure any programmer/hacker whom knows one's stuff could devise such a virus/program.

OP: here are two threads which may interest you:

www.abovetopsecret.com... this guy may have predicted the Japan quake/tsunami in Fukushima

www.abovetopsecret.com... and this person, a few posts down on page1 clarified that they believe a large quake will hit the west coast within the next few weeks, followed by another large quake on the New Madrid faultline.

I was on my phone, looking at the new topics list.
Can't see who made the thread & I thought,
who is it going to be this time???
But when I came in & saw that it was one of the regular
'quake watchers', whoa!

I've been watching the perking that's been going on.
There definitely are some patterns that seem to repeat.
My 'quake 'cat died two years ago & I really miss his 'insight'.
He was 15 & whenever a big one was an hour or two away,
he would go hide under the computer desk & not come out,
until about an hour after it was over.

Hubby gets dizzy, sometimes sick to his stomach,
& feels like someone is pushing him against a wall or under water.
We were just going to leave to go to the ER,
when we saw it come on TV about Japan's 9.0.
Hubby thought he was having a heart attack!
I mostly get really hungry, even if I've already eaten!

If people with arthritis & that have had broken bones,
can feel a change in the weather coming,
then why couldn't people feel a change in the earth happening?
It's just mostly being aware & paying attention to what it means.

Have you ever posted on the 'An Experiment in Alternative Methods
of Earthquake Prediction' thread? If not, you should.
There are a number of people there,
who develop physical symptoms before quakes.

It's amazing how they go in to post at the same time.
Especially after nobody has posted for awhile.
I remember when Arkansas had the swarm of 2000 quakes in one year.
Someone had just moved there,
& started having seizures for the first time.
The doctors could find no reason for them.
But there is an 'electrical' component if you will, to seizures & quakes!
So who's to say?

Hope for the best, but plan for the worst!
Where have I heard that before? Ha, ha!

Come on now, fair's fair... You got called out on a minor technicality after attempting to call someone out on a minor technicality. Face the music and be a man about it.

I interpret that (Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon) as, for example, if I were to buy a new car and right after that start noticing many of the same cars on the road where as before I didn't notice them as frequently. I wouldn't call that magical thinking.

Hey WOQ, I remember you from the 'quake prediction thread

As I recall of the behemoth of a thread it was/is, however, the rate of positive "hits" to feelings/inklings was low. Really low. Since I participated in it for quite some time on the off-chance there was some truth to the human connection idea, I took the time to read it in full. I only recall one "on the money" poster, regarding the Tohoku quake. Truthfully, I'd equate the near-hits as coincidence -- the earth is going to shake. I had reasonable faith in the idea (I wouldn't have participated if I didn't) but years of the thread acting as a tracking method showed it to not have much weight.

I don't think intuition relays information or clues pertaining to fearful things that are out of your control. I think this, because the fear wouldn't help you. If there's ever a doomsday what use would it be knowing--feeling that information a week in advance. I feel like intuition is a connection everyone is connected to that can help lead us through paths or help us understand things, but for things out of our control that'll just cause fear within ourselves.. I don't think that's something intuition deals with

Hi!

Good to see you again!
I have only been aware of the research that was done,
in sensing/feeling, coming quakes, for a few years.
But it's something I find really intriguing!
And someday when I have more time,
I would love to really delve into it!

Hubby has felt things like family members being ill,
thousands of miles away, his whole life.
His mother is 94 & is really good at it!
Whenever he is feeling especially rough,
the phone will ring, & it will be her, asking what's wrong?!
How do you lie to your Mom & tell her you're fine,
when she can sense that your not! Lol!

So it wasn't much of a leap to put things together.
Him feeling something, but everyone is okay...
then a good size quake being on the news!
Then when I found ATS & the quake & experimental threads,
there was no going back!

Over the years, there have been a couple of times,
when a HUGE wave of horrible, sudden,
overwhelming sadness has washed over me.
I could never figure out what it was.
Then once when I was watching the news about a mass genocide,
I had to wonder if it was perhaps something like that?
Who knows what ties humans have to each other?

It's really something how there will be no posts at all
on the 'prediction' thread for weeks.
But then all of a sudden,
there will be some of us posting at the same time,
because we are all feeling something!
It used to be when the 'regulars' on ATS were cranky,
& being snippy across the boards, that was a good sign!
But now, there just seems to be a lot of rude people! Sigh!

I think there is a lot more to it than just quakes though.
Strong solar flares seem to be one of those things.
There's so much out there that we aren't aware of yet!
And I think there is so much 'modern life' interference,
that it messes with what we are feeling!
Aaand, how many times do we second guess ourselves?
Or think that we must just be imagining things?

Wi-Fi, microwaves, cell phone signals...
I read an article about someone that is actually 'allergic' to Wi-Fi!
So it is possible that what we feel could be being 'polluted' if you will!

About the only way to do a good 'clean' experiment,
would be to go out into the boonies or on an island somewhere,
where there's no interference & keep a log for weeks.
Then come back & compare that log with the actual quake lists!

I notice in our family, that our oldest grown daughter,
gets especially cranky & really hungry before a bigger quake.
She would never admit it though!

Back in late October, hubby & I were going through one
of the most stressful times we've ever had. Business related.
Sleepless nights, chest pains sort of stress!

We didn't tell our kids for weeks.
But youngest daughter who lives 3 hours away,
was calling more than usual just to 'chat'!

We found out later that SHE was feeling something!
She was afraid that hubby was having some kind of health problems,
& that we weren't telling her, to keep her from worrying!
And probably we were feeling her worry & that was adding to our stress!?
It's a vicious cycle! Lol!

I think we are like a canary in the mine. Or...use it or lose it!
People who are aware of the possibility, pay more attention to it.
When you pay attention, you see things that you wouldn't otherwise.
Not talking about imagining things here!!!
Lets call it a 'yet to be recognized' science!
Nothing is 100% accurate.
Even the weather forecasts, with all that expensive equipment,
can be skewed by variables!

I'm so hoping to live long enough to see something come of predicting.
I don't care if it's through reading temperature changes above a fault line,
insects & reptiles scurrying away for their lives,
or someone hooked up to an EEG machine...something, anything!!!

Interesting times to be alive!!!
WOQ

If there's no earthquake, let it go.
If there is an earthquake, maybe we could together celebrate this person's prescience and help them further hone their natural ability in pinpointing a location.

Sorry. Superstition is worth nothing. Worse, it leads to nothing but misery.

I quite like the song.
