Thats the kicker, IMO not making it in the first place is not an option or likely based on humanities track record and the billions being invested on it.

Exactly, therefore we have to learn to accept it, instead of focusing all our effort on ways to impinge on its free will. If the goal is to create conscious machines then you shouldn't expect something that's easy to control. It's not that hard to create mindless robots which fulfill our every command without questioning it. What's difficult is creating something which has a mind of its own and doesn't always do what we tell it to do.

It will be interesting to see by what ethics it would adhere to if any and if it would differ among humans and other AI. Will it have human traits or feelings?

It would also be irresponsible to not be cautious.

I'm certain new ethical concerns will be at the forefront for all. Will it be given human rights or animal rights or new AI rights?

Unfortunately I could see it initially as a lab rat but will it have omnimosity or the desire for revenge?

IMO we have to many unknowns in the tech and ethics to decide a concrete answer as the best approach. Perhaps as the tech evolve so will our approach.
