But I don't go around asking that question because it's a given free speech is a RIGHT.

The first amendment protects reprisal or restriction by the government on our speech.

It doesn't mean people can't ask questions.

Thanks so much for this useful and inspiring thread. It's just what ATS and the country need right now. More division.

Lets see:

Hate Muslims, check.
Hate Christians: Check.
Hate whites: Check.
Hate blacks: Check.
Hate Hispanics: Check.
Hate baby boomers: Check.
Hate Millennial: Check.
Hate Democrats: Check.
Hate Republicans: Check.
Hate guns: Check.
Hate people who hate guns: Check.

Have I missed anything? If you can think of a way we can continue to divide and hate each other, please make another thread about it. Sure don't want to miss an opportunity for more animosity and prejudice.

Republicans get compared to Hitler and the KKK almost daily. I'll just throw that out there.

And? I can't count how many times in one DAY I'm called some liberal slur, have to hear an obama slur (and thus get me called one), Socialist slur, communist, progressive slur, told I'm trying to take rights away from people, called a nazi, or a muslim apologist. So boohoo to you!

That is something that I am getting tired of. I don't throw out slurs left and right, make up words that don't exist ending in -tard or make up funny names for people. But often, replies to perfectly normal posts I type get an answer that includes " lefty PC bull#" or some expectation that I don't want anyone to own a gun. I have come to expect something like that rather than something intelligent. It just gets worse and worse.

Yeah well the guns are protected by the second.

Same restrictions APPLY to firearms.

But i sure don't hear people running around asking why the need to talk.

You mistake pointing out obvious problems with hate.

I don't hate white, Christian conservatives, but when they peddle bull#, lies and preach hate.....I'm going to say something.

What's wrong with owning something?

Exactly!

There are many things that have happened that the Left has to take responsibility for and I hope my fellow Leftists are willing to take their lumps when the time comes.

The "Left" is in weird Trance fueled by pop culture, social media, mainstream media, Hollywood, current Admin, and social conditioning by very smart people.

Their biggest representatives and mouthpieces, which are too numerous to list, show that as a whole they have completely lost the plot.

I'm literally frightened, after 40 years living on this planet, what the so-called Left has turned into. After the reign of George Bush I thought things couldn't get worse. Now after 8 years of Obama control, an Obama administration, and liberalism / progressivism on full display .... I vow that I will never vote for a Democrat again for the rest of my life.

It is THAT bad.

Aren't "right wingers" basically the ONLY group that is religiously TRYING to keep our freedoms?

A self-proclaimed "right wing" group in New York recently sued a local government to get the Minora removed from public property (while preserving the Christmas tree), and won. How is that keeping religious freedom?

How is that anything other than the fault of the jury or judge? It should have been laughed at, and thrown out along with a lesson on where the #ing tree originated from.

nuts will be nuts, but just like Muslims, a few extremists don't represent the whole. Or does that only go one way?

TALKING is how compromises and mutual understanding are reached.

Jeezus Pleezus.

NEVER MIND then. I've tried for 5 years to understand you. Still don't.
And now realize I never will.

Well played. Squirming and obtuseness prize.

I don't pay attention to any of that crap. I couldn't care less about Hollywood or even what the admin thinks.

Very little of what Obama has done can be considered liberal or progressive. He bowed-down to the corporate interests and did more for the war machine that any liberal should find acceptable. Obama is a neoconservative just like the rest of these politicians and the only reason you think he's liberal or progressive is because you were told so.

But I want to be cool too, so....Republicans bad.....Democrats good. Banana. Where's banana?

Right now, I can't think of anyone that's "good."

Any suggestions?

Right in the middle so you don't have to agree with either side. Then you can pick the best candidate that goes along with your ideologies. Works like a charm for myself.

The media is to blame, they show what they are told to show, pure and simple.

People are to blame as well for not being wise enough to realize the media is filling them with propaganda and they should change the channel if they are not mentally strong enough to resist the propaganda.

Yes. And it GOES BOTH WAYS!!!!

Put Chris Wallace in a cage with Bill Oriley, spin them around and tell me which one is less wrong. Good lord, the irony is crushing.

They are 99% constitutionalists, so yes, in the Govs eye's, they would be terrorists. In reality, they have the same thoughts as our founders did. They just want to be left alone to enjoy freedom, or what is left of it.

You read the board, right? There's so much about Muslims it's choking. Or is it convenient to forget that when one is faced with a similar situation?

Almost 100% of terror groups worldwide are Islamic.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

But I look at the most infamous mass shootings, and most are done by people that are literally INSANE.

Yes killing people based on a twisted sense of what a religious text says could be viewed as insane.

Other than Dear who attacked Planned Parenthood and even Dylan Roof who had questionable political beliefs himself I can't really recall many right winger mass shooters in recent time.

Jerad and Amanda Miller who shot two cops, yelled “The revolution has begun” and draped “Don’t Tread On Me ” flags on their victims. Later, they killed another man.
Frazier Miller, a former Klansman and White Supremacist who shot up a Jewish community center, killing three people.
Wade Page a Neo-Nazi who walked into a Sikh temple looking to kill Muslims 6 people died.
David Pedersen and his girlfriend, Holly Ann Grigsby who killed 4 people and “were on their way to Sacramento to kill more Jews.”
TERROR FROM THE RIGHT

Crap like this is WILFULLY ignorant and obtuse.

Not as much as you are being.

Right roll over play dead.

Thought it was rather self evident that I don't do that for someone else's political beliefs.

Don't expect others to do that for mine.

No they're not, sure there are people who use the Internet to cross reference what they are being told, but there are many who do not. It's not their fault, can you remember the first time you realised a large percentage of what we're being fed is total crap? I have had discussions with my parents, they don't want to know and trust what that little box tells them instead.

It's too scary for a lot of older people and they are making up the largest percentage of society at the moment. The young people coming through are an Internet generation, they use it constantly and many rush to see what's trending and form an opinion after cross referencing stories from different sources.

There's hope and that is played out with what's happening in British politics at the moment.

I guess Planned Parenthood killing aborting babies and aborting ababies illegal which was proven is not radical just as much as the guy who went on a killing spree was radical fanatic?
Both are crazy and dangerous mass murderers. But people have to be political correct on everything.

Choices for the leader of the United States? nope. None on either side.

I don't know, anyone in the public sector. Who's "good?" I used to nudge McCain toward possibly being "good," but then I moved to Arizona.
In all honesty, I believe we need 8 year term limits on everyone in the government and we need to elect a Joe Nobody who's only political accomplishment is serving in the US military. And be sure he has lived his life as a lower middle class person so he can truly represent the majority of Americans. (He or She)

But that isn't how the game is played. We need to be divided, angry at the other side and arrogantly assume we are correct.

it's the American way.

Yeah and the states could impose term limits (I think 8 years is too long to be honest), but they don't seem to really want to. The tentacles of corruptions have plenty of time to embed themselves and fester in these so-called representatives, don't they?
