It blows my mind that many Republicans want to ban Muslim refugees. If I were a Republican Presidential Candidate I would find it much more advantageous to do the opposite, while shoving Obama's failure in his face. If I were a Republican Presidential Candidate, here's what my strategy would be:

"As a Christian it is my responsibility to help people in need and right now the refugees fleeing their war-torn land, seem to fit that bill. It breaks my heart that President Obama has completely failed these people, and now their homes are so dangerous, they are forced to flee. While Obama sat by and called ISIS the JV-Team and allowed them to become the richest and most advanced terrorist group the world has ever seen, these people now have nowhere to live. While President Obama claims to have ISIS "contained", recent attacks prove otherwise. I don't blame these people for wanting to leave the hostile area that this President's administration allowed to not only happen, but to THRIVE. We invaded Iraq almost 15 years ago, and have had a presence ever since. For the past 7 years, this president has done almost nothing but mishandle just about everything in the Middle East, and now in the midst of his incompetence we have thousands of people who no longer have homes. President Obama has failed these people so bad, and it is up to us to make it right"

I get to be the good guy and smear Obama, why is this strategy so lost on these Republican candidates? Especially in the wake of Trump going in the complete opposite direction!

I guess on second thought, I'm not that surprised.....

***Personally I'm pretty torn on the issue. My post was more geared towards political strategy than morality or logistics (in true politician fashion

the muslim immigrants will create more slums, radicalize and that leads to more crime.
what's your answer to the people concerning this?

and don't believe you will be able to integrate them into the american society.
europe is so tolerant it's almost hurting to see it, and even they failed and have a huge muslim problem now, going so deep the radicalization even starts in muslim kindergartens.

The idea is not to ban them, that would mean none ever period.

The idea is to ban them temporarily, until they can be vetted properly.

Then the ones that pass the vetting process can come in.

Otherwise, you are knowing allowing in terrorists with the immigrants.

Which is bat# crazy.

Oh by no means do I think this wouldn't come with consequences. In fact, I'm actually pretty torn on the issue. I'm for a very strong vetting process, but undestand that it's complicated...

My post was more directed towards political strategy, than morality or the after-effect (you know like how politicians think) . Ha.

Perhaps it's because the Republicans don't care about doing the right thing, or following the Christian teaching. That's why Trump is so popular with the Right Wing. Trump has no problem showing a heartless approach to everything he does and for some reason the Right Wing likes heartless.

no way.

I could make an easier argument that republicans could agree with, insteading of taking refugees we arm them. Would we let any foreign or domestic crazed group take over our land? no way. So let's give them the means to fight for their land, their freedom.

Arming people so they could fight for their land is what got us in the mess were in. We keep arming the wrong people.

One of the tenants of Islam is charity. But we never see Muslim countries actually practicing charity. How about the refugees all go to nearby Muslim countries.

The US and Europe could help with donations of food clothing etc.

The refugees, to my way of thinking, would be happier in one of their own countries and we wouldn't be stuck with them when the war in Syria ends.

There are ways that we can help but still protect ourselves.

Please note that even the MSM is reporting that Isis now has perfect passports from two printers in towns they have taken.

I agree. Look at every country that has allowed unencumbered muslim immigration.

In case ya missed it the first time here it is in BOLD.

Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns in to UNIVERSAL rather than religion specific values. It requires their proposals be subject to argument and amenable to reason.

Back to 'what's a good Christian' according to some.

History certainly does repeat itself.

Now it is the Mexicans and Muslims before it was the Chinese and Irish. In a hundred years it will be some other group facing the irrational fear.

but please keep the muslims in their homeland.
the children of today will be thankful tomorrow.

You assume that those that support trump are christians, I havent done a christian thing in my life, as I am not religious.

Trump is the only nonpolitico running, that is why he has my vote.

I appreciate some of the things he does, not all, i like that he speaks his mind, somthing tht has been lacking in America for decades now.

Do I support everything he says and does...not at all.

Do I think he is the best , thus better of the evils? yes I do.

Because hillary is the devil if there ever was one.

And sanders is a socialist.

( before he is a democratic socialist BS starts) how is that working out of there in north east Europe?

All those nations are on the road to imminent ruin because of those same policies sanders champions.

None of the other republican candidates are worth the toilet paper it would take to wipe them off with.

So It is trump or dont vote.

We finance the people that wrecked their nation and our response should be here's some food and old clothes.

The refugees, to my way of thinking, would be happier in one of their own countries and we wouldn't be stuck with them when the war in Syria ends.

So we wreck their lives then wash our hands of the whole ordeal huh?

Religion was mentioned in the OP. I expanded upon that.

Trump is the only nonpolitico running, that is why he has my vote.

His ideas or policy suggestions are not important? Only because he is not a politician?

So It is trump or dont vote.

Good luck with that.

That isnt really fair, their countries were never nice places, we just knocked down hovels in the 3rd world.

That place has been a pit for hundreds of years before modern times.

But yes, we didnt help the matter at all.
