I really hope that sarcasm tag was there to imply that you weren't serious with the "but Obama" type line.

Everyone who likes Trump is a Bigot ?

That's weak and prejudice on its face.

You don't know everyone supporting Trump.

People are scared. They just want to be safe.

Blaming Trump because these fools support him.

Guilt by admiration...Thats really a reach.

Being scared and wanting to feel safe is an excuse for bigotry and intolerance?

Why do you guys always always always always always always always ALWAYS make it about Obama. He's ineffectual, whatever, drone strikes are bad I agree, but right now I don't care about him. This thread is about Trump.

I swear, no matter what I'm talking about, there's always the inevitable "but Obama."

Deflection & redirection. It's a way of avoiding accountability for a topic by pointing out that someone else is doing something. That way, they don't have to face the actual issues; like the fact that a Neo-Nazi leader says Trump is pushing their ideas.

Child A steals a cookie.

Child B: Hey! You just stole a cookie!

Child A: Well what about when your best friend didn't take out the trash! Hypocrite!

Child B: What's that have to do with you stealing a cookie?! Stay on topic!

Child A: You have no right to judge me, snitch!

Kind of like that.

It's a general Right-Wing Lunatic comeback/"argument." Not sure if David (or you, for that matter) are one of those people, but it's all over the place. Has been since he was elected, really.

"But Obama" is a phrase I hear so often nowadays, either verbatim or in terms of intent, that it's going to drive me insane.

Yup...everybody who likes trump is a bigot. Because i can assure you he has nothing to offer non bigoted people.

And you say people are scared? Get the hell out of my face with that bullsh*t. What are people in the US scared of? Being killed? Then why dont want to ban guns since you have mass shootings every week it seems like? No..you guys wont entertain that option will you? . But bigots are using the "people are scared" bullsh*t as an excuse to back a filthy scumbag like trump.

Thank god i dont live in the lunatic asylum that is the USA. Ill take my chances in London where were we actually DO have a reason to be worried about Islamic terrorists.

Ill say it again, Trump has NOTHING to offer non bigoted people.

Of course, not, its the bigoted/intolerants excuse.

"i was mugged by a black man therfore i hate all blacks"

"A fraction of muslims are terrorists, therefore i am scared of them all"

So what?

I'm sure the black panters leader thinks that some Presidential candidate is the "real deal" as well.

More fake outrage.

If the media called Trump the next Buddha as consistently as they call him a racist, some Buddhist nut cases would come forward and call him the real deal. Of course, the racism angle is true only by repetition. I bet you couldn't find one instance of Trump speaking about the superiority or inferiority of other races, and you only continue saying it because others are.

As I iterated before, while I think that the man himself may not necessarily be racist/bigoted/etc. it cannot be denied that he seems crafted to appeal to those of such nature.

This may be the weakest analogy I've read all year.

These comparisons, even if overblown, still need some sort of basis of common ground for comparison. Trump making fun of a handicapped reporter was a common ground with the Nazi's program against the handicapped. Trump flaming the sentiments that America isn't great because of immigration and wanting to ban all Muslims entry has a comparison with Nazi's anti immigrant policy (Germany is only for Germans) and fear of Jews (who were also blamed for not integrating with Germans, not learning the German language, not fighting in World War I to defend Germany, keeping to themselves, owning the banks and businesses in order to control and subjugate native Germans, and wanting to control the world based on the fake protocols of Zion.) Regardless of what is overblown or not, there is a still a basis of commonality.

Trump has no common ground with Buddhism. He needs to actually do some Buddhist things (like be a vegetarian, not covet wealth but choose a path nearer poverty, have an agenda that is pro saving the lives of all animals, not just humans, and be an actual Buddhist,) for that comparison to gain traction. A media outlet could try to call him Buddhist but it would not gain any traction as there is no common ground to draw from. However, xenophobic nationalism is a common ground between Trump's position and pre World War II Nazi ideology. If it's taken too far, so be it, but the common ground exists.

No, but it's the reason people are flocking to Trump.

And, the intolerance seems to apply to Trump as well.

Not a single vote has been cast. You cannot let the man speak.

You are all so sure he won't win...Why not let him talk ?

Don't like him....Don't vote for him.

I'm not going to vote for him, and no one has shut him up yet either. So what are you talking about? Your boy can't take criticism for his "ideas"?

He is not "My Boy"...

If I would of said "My Boy" about Obama I'd be racist.

Let's just calm down and let this play out.

How can a guy without a single Electoral Vote win anything...He can't.

Anyone who writes "Like, at all"...

Probably isn't old enough to understand the context.

US Politics...

The only political system on the planet that takes 2 years to play out.

With the added bonus of sideshow entertainment involving spitting, hair pulling, kicking, panty wedgies, and bickering over who has the shinier Tonka truck in the sandbox.

All rolled up into one.
