I somehow get the feeling that if Hitler himself arose from the grave and gave Trump a thunderous applause with 5/5 stars, the people who support him would still support him.

I dunno, Hitler was a socialist so I don't know what he'd make of Trump.

And who here on ATS has really paid attention to what the neo-Nazis are saying over the years? I certainly haven't. But I guess no one does until it becomes political ammo eh?

This shouldn't be a surprise. All people have to do is take 30 minutes and visit the websites of current Neo-Nazi groups. Not articles about Neo-Nazis, but the actual websites. They promote themselves with websites, videos, and a lot more. That way, you can see what they stand for in their own words.

Plus people seem to have already forgotten the fake racial crimes image Trump posted a while back. It was originally posted directly from a neo-Nazi's account.

I do. I also look into different KKK websites, as well as occasionally lurk over at Stormfront. I even posted the party platform of one of the more prominent, current KKK groups a while back, because people kept claiming the group was irrelevant. I was showing that the principles they talk about right now are virtually identical to the rhetoric from America's extreme right wing, which shouldn't be a surprise.

EDIT: I posted that party platform in one of the threads about Anonymous leaking Klan members. Sorry, don't carry enough to search for that post or thread.

True. I actually feel Hitler could have been a strong force for good without that whole genocide and megalomania thing. Sadly, it was not to be. Then again, perhaps he took a path that the time seemed the only option.

Maybe things are usually ignored except for when they are useful as political ammo, but this is a potential president. One of the most likely as it currently stands, too.

I've always been convinced Trump is purposely trying to become a popular candidate, then slowly sabotage it by being to 'conservative', allowing Jeb Bush to rock on though with little competition in the end.

lol, my little brother thinks I should put my conspiracy theory mind set where my money is and put a bet on at the sports betting agency he works at... Jeb Bush is paying $9, I could seriously clean up.

Seriously though, hate him or love him, Trump has no chance of becoming the the next president after making comments like that, right?

he's just far to fanatical to ever have any chance of gaining enough votes, imo.

Never underestimate human stupidity.

It makes me want to drown myself in sulfuric acid to say it, but I'd actually prefer Trump to Hillary. He might turn America into Nazi Germany (or try to, at least) but there is something deeply unsettling about Clinton.

Bingo!

Why would a neo-nazi, who is bound to know that association with him and his organisation is seen publicly as a bad thing (as he is a white supremacist ...), publicly declare support for something he wants to succeed?

I always wonder if these people get paid to say these things around election time.

But then maybe they are really just that dumb.

Neither answer is good really.

Is he my first choice... Nope. But... he's better then most at the moment. Is he knee jerk. Yup. Does he get dramatic. Sure does. His ideals and ideas are not this hyper-vigilant pc bs we have to deal with. Does he really think all Mexicans are rapist? Most likely not. Should have he said he has concerns about crimes against Americans being committed by undocumented illegal immigrants. Most likely. He can't block Muslims from entering the country ( well possibly by EO...Amirite Barry?) He probably doesn't want "refugees" blowing us up. We have enough domestic terrorists to deal with never mind foreign. I truly believe that out of all the offerings he has more of the Americas best interest at heart thing and that's more than we have seen In a long time. It's just that its Donald Trump and I don't know if I will ever be able to take him seriously.

Amen ... this PC crap and the people who can't call it for what it is ... yuck.

I'm not a Racist. Definitely a Bigot.

Not a Trump Fan (anymore) But his words resonate with me in a lot of ways, even though they are simplistic.

I know Racists. Trump is NOT one. I don't even think he's a Bigot.

If you said Narcissistic, Arrogant, Grandiose, Stubborn, Childish, Crass...or a combination, you might have a point.

"Racist" and "Bigoted"...nope. Those words are too easy. Low hanging fruit. Life has nuance.

ETA: Note to self...stop responding to Trump threads

No, because if that were the case, Carson, Cruz, Bush, so on and so forth would be getting compared to Hitler.

They aren't. At least, not by me.

I'm comparing Trump to Hitler because I feel the comparison is valid and important to be aware of.

Trump acts AUTHORITARIAN. And being that Hitler is the most widely used character from history to compare it to..."HITLER" usually wins out. There are literally hundreds of Authoritarian Nationalists you could bring up.

And P.S. Nationalism is both a GREAT thing and DESPERATELY needed. Like A.S.A.P.

Generally the most well-known comparison will be made. If I compared him to some ancient Persian ruler most people would have no idea what I was talking about. (Not that I would compare him to an ancient Persian ruler, it's just to make a point.)

Not Trump's brand of nationalism. Not the brand of nationalism that blames all the problems on minority groups and seeks to make America "great again", rather than "better."

For arguments sake. "Make America great again" is a simple slogan. He's SMART by using it. But why shouldn't America be great again? We currently kind of suck...

And I don't see him blaming all the ills of society of 'minorities'. Terrorism and Illegal Immigration are a big concern to a lot of people, and people are tired of it. Both happen to be centered around "minority" groups.

They certainly would be compared to Hitler, if they were leading in the polls (which they are not).

Trump has them all scared. All of them. heck, he even scares me.

But let's take an honest approach to this comparison. Do you see Donald Trump as a Nationalist Socialist Democrat? Do you see him banning guns? Do you see him rounding up all the illegals and sending them to forced work camps and gas chambers? Do you see him invading Canada for "lebensraum"? Do you see him implementing a murder program for the disabled?

The problem is that "Great America" eventually became "Current America". If you go backwards, the only place to come is forwards again. Even if it was possible, you'd just be shunting the issue to the coming generations. Like Climate Change.

Last I heard, the net immigration from Mexico (a big crux of Trump's campaign. Wall and all, you know) was zero.
And Trump's approaching Terrorism the wrong way. Bombing other countries unsurprisingly leads to more terrorists.

@Geister

They certainly would be compared to Hitler, if they were leading in the polls (which they are not).

Not by me. I'd be comparing Trump to Hitler regardless of where he was in the polls. Because he is similar to Hitler. Cruz is despicable, Bush is a Bush, and Carson is totally insane, but none of them are like Hitler. Trump is.

I can't see it happening easily, but I don't think the Germans who elected Hitler really saw it coming either. It's not just Trump himself that I'm worried about. Actually, he's probably the lesser thing. Unless America really goes off the deep end he won't be rounding up illegals into gas chambers, but he's on the path to it.
The issue is the message that electing someone who, for instance, openly mocks the disabled sends. I dislike using the Slippery Slope argument, but in Trump's case... It's not the man himself. It's what he represents.

Don't make the mistake of thinking I'm comparing Trump to end-of-WWII Genocide Hitler. I'm comparing him to the earlier one, that would later become that man.

Its already happening. Turkey shot down a Russian airliner. Turkey is part of NATO and are supporting opposition forces in Syria. Russia is supporting Assad.

Its only a matter of time. Would you want a President who will apologize for America and be politically correct about everything, or do you want a President who will hand the enemy their posterior?
