The presidency does seem to have become a scapegoat position. The reward is wealth and fame for taking constant criticism. He also helps to swing Congress by party so that people feel their 'team' is in charge and are therefore appeased, at least a bit.

What a game.

I don't know that he is a sleeper cell, but his Pakistani connections go waaaay back and he still maintains some of them today.

While the average 20-something vacations in the Caymans, Bahamas, or maybe even Paris or London, where does young Obama like to vaca? Pakistan, of course.

You quote an article that calls Obama a radical Communist Muslim? The source is crap. I have no idea how there are flags on this thread or stars on your OP. Welcome to Crazytown, I guess.

Is not about the headlines, is about the information and the reality of the issues been talk about.

Is impossible to cover the entire sky with the palm of one hand.

That's neat.President Obamas' mantra since he came into office has been(and continues to be) "it's Bushs'Fault".And everyone can whine about how it is Bushs fault, however when you become President you own it.At least that's what a leader is supposed to do.

Yes I did start a sentence with and

Had we not invaded the Middle East and caused the quagmire

So why is that some people that think middle east history began in 2000 seem to forget the previous guy that was lobbying cruise missiles at them for near a decade.

And levied sanctions, and 'no fly' zones.

It's 'all' GW's fault!!!!

Too funny.

Only delusional conservatives believe Obama ignores terrorism.

Well there is historical precident of him just doing that like when Johnson was bombing empty fields, and buildings.

Because he didn't want to make Russia 'mad'.

Take a look at some of the other threads trending today and you will realize Crazytown is nice compared to what we should call it.

The nutters are on a roll today. Can't imagine what it will be like after his speech.

Agreed that the OP is out there as far as claims go, but the economy is really better? Tell that to the 94.6 million out of work.

What?

According to the Census Bureau:

Persons under 18 years, percent, 2014 23.1%
Persons 65 years and over, percent definition and source info Persons 65 years and over, percent, 2014 14.5%

We'll round up the US population to 320 million to give you the benefit of the doubt. So that's about 120,320,000 million people under 18 and 65 and older. That leaves 199,680,000 million people.

Because I'm being really generous (and lazy), let's also just ignore all the people who retired early, are unable to work because of disability, the stay at home moms/dads, etc.

You think that the actual unemployment rate is 30%? Why do you believe that? Are 1/3 of the working age people you know unemployed? Granted the 5% U-3 number is misleading, but the U-6 number — which includes the "total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force" — is about 9%.

Not that 9% isn't bad! In fact, I'm wholly convinced that we're actually headed toward an employment calamity that not nearly enough people, and basically none of our elected representatives are talking about. Expect that number (the U-6 number) to continue to rise substantially over the next couple decades until things get bad enough that we elect a Congress and a President that are ready to deal with the effects that technology is having on employment.

You lost me at Obama being a supporter/member of ISIS, but I'm sure all the Obama haters will love this nonsense and flag this thread to the front page. Ignorance is running rampant on ATS these days.

What are your thoughts about Bush and his presidency? How long till America recovers from that administration or is Obama the only bad president in this bizzaro world?

I think Bush was a terrible President due to his general incompetence and failure to question his intelligence agencies. Obama isn't stupid like Bush so I can only conclude he is doing things on purpose.

Chances are Obama himself is an atheist who started attending church because he had political ambitions and a lot of Christian voters simply won't vote for a non-Christian.

I've always wondered - and had my suspicions

It's the elephant in the room. A person is (unofficially) not eligible as a candidate for president in this country if they don't believe in God

The only thing worse than not believing is believing wrong

Or perhaps you should consider that Obama isn't actually doing what you think he is.

Possible?

ATS and many members used to have no love for the powers that be, and it was almost daily you'd read about "globalist this, globalist that," threads on high ranking politicians and their connections to secret societies, corporations and their influence in the political sphere, discussing legislation such as the TTP and ALEC.

How the election process in America is and has been more of an auction, and selection system by those with disposable income into the hundreds of millions and even billions. How these same people own and control the media, subverting issues and blaming the oppressed for the actions of the oppressors.

How, at some point in American history - in my opinion, Operation Paperclip - (Quick side note - I would love to see a high-budget film made on Paperclip, wouldn't that be mind-blowing?) our democratic processes and ideals of a Constituional Republic suddenly transformed into an oligarchy, with hints of a plutocracy, topped off with elements of fascism.

How the food supply in America has been tainted by biotech conglomerates such as Monsanto, and their influence in our political sphere, such as seats in the FDA, and the problems and questions you'd certainly expect to hear.

These were the dominating threads on ATS, and of course - always something regarding the U.S. Government suppressing alien tech, which were my favorite.

For the most part, I see threads revolving around IS, Obummer done messed something up again, a new mass shooting, or how it's the fault of the liberals or the fault of the conservatives.

We bark amongst one another, all the while missing the point that the only thing we truly need is unity. But to what end? Well, I'll put it simply, and to quote Mike Prysner, "So we can stand up together, as Brothers and Sisters, to fight the American people, to create a better world, for every man, woman, and child."

What a dirty socialist, amirite?

I hear you, engaging in political discussions is all but futile. I have very close (and very intelligent) friends who absolutely defend capitalism, the free market, and the current government to the teeth, and don't see any inherent problems within our political structure.

I, wholeheartedly disagree - we do not have a free market. WE, footed the bill to bailout banks. That is not how a free market works, those banks would've collapsed. But "the ripple effects," so they were then considered "too big to fail."

Corporate socialism IS NOT a principle of a free market economy.

But I digress - it is however nice to see others at least attempting to bring a "bigger picture," mentality to this thread as opposed to the typical hatred and rhetoric that is tossed around.

In my opinion, the entire charade of IS has been of an utmost benefit to the powers that be. It has dominated our media, and has instilled unparalleled fear across the nation. People are acting on their fears, and are seeing things with emotion rather than logic.

having awareness of other cultures (Cultural Competency) makes one more of a PEACEKEEPER than a warlord.
Just saying.

How many other cultures are you familiar (really familiar) with, your majesty?

There is plenty of evidence presented that Obama is a supporter of Isis if not the de facto leader.

Funny how you are unable to show this "plenty of evidence"!

Obama derangement syndrome is strong in some people!
