Russia doesn't dare risk escalating the situation with Turkey. Iraq is on their own. Their only chance is to draw Iran in, and that may be what Turkey is trying to get them to do.

I dont speak on behalf of Russia so i dont know what they dare or dont dare. We will have to see how this play's out.

Turkey probably think they can hide behind NATO by being illigaly stationed in Iraq.

Funny you should say that ;

Turks have the only LAWFULLY valid deed of the Musul and Kirkuk .

Turkey has deeds for Kirkuk, Mosul HDN | 3/13/2004 12:00:00 AM | Original title deeds belonging to the northern Iraqi cities are kept in Turkey's Directorate for Deeds and Land Registry ANKARA - Turkish Daily

Turkish Daily News Original deeds of ownership for the northern Iraqi cities of Mosul and Kirkuk, copies of which were destroyed last year during post-war looting in Iraq, are kept in the Turkish Directorate for Deeds and Land Registry, officials said.

The deeds kept in the Land Registery include registries that go back as early as the 14th century and there are 350,000 volumes of such registries concerning some 17 countries that were part of the Ottoman Empire in the past, Zeki Adli, director-general Land Registry, commented on Friday in daily Radikal.

Land registry and deed offices in the oil-rich city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq were looted immediately after Iraqi army withdrew from the city during the U.S.-led war on Iraq.

The city is home to a sizable Turkmen community and there were fears in Turkey and among Iraqi Turkmens that the looting was aimed at destroying evidence for Turkmen presence in the city.

High-security measures are taken in the building where the deeds of ownership belonging to Kirkuk and Mosul are kept, Adli said.

Adli also said that his directorate was working on the Kirkuk and Mosul registries after the interim Iraqi administration requested cooperation as it tries to settle property ownership matters in Mosul and Kirkuk.

Turks aren't hiding behind Nato ; on the contrary , Turks are claiming their own territory back while Nato is dithering about the Russian threat as usual .

You know what the LAW says ?

Possession is the 9/10th of the LAW , especially if you have the only VALID & LAWFULL deed for the aforementioned property.

Maybe it is not obvious to you but the situation is that the Iraq & Syria are on the brink of being broken into pieces by West & Russia & China & Iran .

Turks says hello ? we have a reservation and a place on the table too , thank you very much .

If you promote modern historical claims, imagine if I start claiming through history! You should start looking for another planet or solar system

indeed .

According to Ankara Bagdat Agreement , should Iraq fails as a state , Musul & KIrkuk will revert to Turks .

There are obviously other places too but it's too early to speculate.

Right. After Turkey shoot Down the Russian SU- 24 they called NATO ASAP. That was a hit and run.... all the way home to NATO in Brussel.

we have some breaking news, its not about IRAQ, but submarine missiles against saudi-arab and turk fanatic islamists in Rakka or something.. Its the first time Russia is using underwater attack against targets.

I dont know which topic to add it, so here it is as raw news (the link have an auto translate option under the main article title and picture) : link

It says turks and arabas, I thought its Iraq (because turks, arabs and germans occupy Iraq now).

The attack is from Mediterranean seas.

Here is the fottage from RT.

EDIT:

Germany also have 15 SF situated just outside the base in question outside Mosul.

Germany were to bring in 1200 men. I Guess 15 of them ended up there.

The google translation option is funny, some words are totally off. For example it says : The missiles struck two main positions of the Islamists in the region of raccoons (it means Rakka and some other areas)

It also says : there is intense speculation that fired missiles and half Russian submarine whose existence no It has announced (it means, there is speculation that another submarine also present in that area and fired missiles too, but its information has not been announced).

if you ever have questions from the links I give and you translate, just ask.

Were you sitting in on that conference call? No? It is in Turkey's best interests to take on Russia without NATO; that would make Turkey the most important regional power when it defeats Russia in its attempts to exert dominance in the region.

So what is to stop them from pulling out deeds to southern Europe lol? Russia is taking this to the security counsel and I would bet some serious warnings will be laid out if Turkey does not vacate Iraq.

All of Russia's aircraft are needed to defend Russia from the evil forces of NATO massed all along its border. If it withdraws any to fight Turkey, NATO tanks will come flooding through the gaps. At least, that is Russian war fighting dogma.

Russia dont need to invade Turkey to put hem out of the game. Russia dont even have to use a single jet fighter to do it. Or nucklear weapons.

Turkey on the other hand would have to use their airforce to ingage Russia. And once those jets take of they will have no airfields to land on again.

You don't seem to understand the strategic situation. All Turkey has to do to win is not do what Putin wants. So long as Turkey defies Putin, they win and Putin loses. Eventually, Putin will need to attack Turkey to prove Russia is not impotent. This means that Turkey can fight a defensive war against an enemy that can only approach by air and sea. Turkey has anti-missile defenses, submarines and an air force that will be operating close to its bases. Russia, on the other hand will be operating over extended lines of communication. Their ships and planes will be vulnerable as they approach Turkey. It is safe to assume that Russia's bases in Syria will be the first targets to be destroyed.

Really..... ?

All i see is that Putin gains from what Turkey has done. The Turk's Downing of the SU 24 has not in any way favored Turkey. If the black Box reveal that the Turks did in fact attack the Russian SU 24 inside Syria. We will see how the Turks put up. Because NATO and the US cant protect them in any way. The US would probably have to move their airfleet to Italy or Saudi Arabia if they still want their jets and bombers to be in flying condition.

I hope for the sake of the Turks that they did in fact shoot and down the SU 24 within Turkey.
