anyone know of a good book that covers pretty much everything? well i know a single book cant cover all things but im kind of looking for a one stop deal.

i was going to buy this

www.amazon.com...

it is the unix sys admin bible but it is still .nix so it should be cool but it was written in 98 so i am guessing it is long out dated.

i tend to get obsessed with certain topics and try to devour as much as i can.
lately it is computers/hacking/programming/networking.....
i will read as much as i can till i get bored and move to another topic.

you know something like the book i linked but current?

thank you all

there's so much change with linux that any books going to be out of date before it hits the shelf

knowledge of the basics like the mv/cd/rm/cp commands and how to use vi will be the basics as will knowledge of man

best thing to do is to install it in a VM and play with it, have a target like setup an intranet site or a SMB server for file sharing with windows hosts.

Linux does defeat itself as every time there's a slight disagreement over something they seem to fork the source

That's why what I learned 22 years ago for SCO Unix System V still has it's use.
