Iraqi president says Turkish deployment violates international law
www.kurdistan24.net...

4 hours ago:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi President Fouad Massoum on Saturday called the deployment of several hundred Turkish troops near the northern city of Mosul "a violation of international norms and law" and said it would raise regional tensions.

"In an online statement, Massoum called on Turkey to withdraw the forces and asked Iraq's foreign ministry to take the necessary measures to preserve the country's sovereignty and independence.

A Turkish security source said on Friday that several hundred Turkish troops had been deployed to provide training for Iraqi troops near Mosul, a city of more than one million people which Islamic State militants overran in July 2014."

Turkish Troops Said Invade Iraq Near Mosul

CNN Turkey, citing security forces officials, is reporting what appears to be yet another escalation in the middle east maelstrom:

*TURKISH TROOPS ENTER MOSUL REGION IN IRAQ, CNN-TURK REPORTS
*ABOUT 1,200 TURKISH TROOPS IN BASHIQA NEAR MOSUL: CNN-TURK

"So suddenly, just as the world is scrutinizing Turkey's role in the Islamic State oil trade, Ankara decides to send anti-ISIS troops to Iraq? Are they trying to secure the crude trade and guard the trafficking routes?"

On Friday, Turkey sent troops into Iraq. Here's a video of the deployment shared on social media: www.youtube.com...

There is also this that Turkey is using as an excuse to be there:

www.rt.com...

Turkey to have a ‘permanent base’ in Iraq Turkey will have a permanent military base in the northern Iraqi region of Bashiqa near the city of Mosul as its military group training local forces in Iraq has been reinforced with additional personnel, Turkey's Hurriyet reports. According to Hurriyet, the deal concerning the establishment of the base was signed on November 4 between Iraqi Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani and then Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu during the latter’s visit to northern Iraq.

They are trying to use the excuse that the "Kurdistan president gave them permission, but the Iraq constitution lays it out that nothing in the Kurds constitution can conflict with the Iraqi one,AND that Iraq maintains control over the countries defense etc.

www.ekrg.org...

10. Article 110 gives the federal government exclusive authority in relation to nine categories of matter: foreign policy; national security and defense policy; fiscal and customs policy; standards, weights and measures; citizenship and immigration; broadcasting and postal policies; budget; planning of waters flowing to Iraq; census and statistics. In some cases the power is expressed in terms of “formulating policies”; in others the term used is “regulating”, either by reference to “issues” or “policies”

italics mine.

Turkey has no authority to go in there and start stomping around. Whatever the idiots up in our government have told Erdogan, they better tell him something different before that power hungry fool starts off WW3.

The Kurds wouldn't give Turkey the right to do jack especially in northern Iraq lol. Putin needs to teach Erdogan a lesson. Send in the Blackjacks with Cruise missiles and take out these Turkish troops in Iraq, right after you get pictures of them protecting all those ISIS Toyota trucks for the whole world to see.
