*head desk*

This is like trying to bring back the Avro Arrow.

(rabidly fanatical Canuck Arrow-fans in 3....2.....1...)

And all those people have long since retired, probably even dead. The Eurofighter designers are likely retired, too, for that matter. There's knowledge that can only be retained about doing.

That's why what the USA is even doing makes me nervous. Even black project systems, unless there are enough to do a real production run, are insufficient for maintaining an industrial base: its one thing to be able to design a one off and get it flying. Its completely different to design something for a production line.

Anyways, Rolls Royce has [url=http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/strike/2015/12/06/rolls-royce-offers-engine-for-turkish-made-fighter-jet/76890154/]offered[/ur l] the EJ200 for the TF-X.

I love this pay the UK to design a jet, RR engine(s) MB seat have airbus do the construction. And on the off chance it's both good and cheap maybe the UK buys a few.

Just swap or uprate a few things

AirBus will NOT be doing the construction.

Turkish Aerospace Industries will build it.

UPDATE:
They just signed off with Rolls Royce in a partnership with Kale Group to build engines, with the TF-X being the first project. Theresa May visited with them in January for a discussion on their deal.

Rudaw
Rolls-Royce signed a deal on Monday with Turkey’s Kale Group, which is a defense and aerospace firm, to produce aircraft engines in the future. “Kale Group will own 51 per cent and Rolls-Royce 49 per cent of the joint venture, which aims to develop aircraft engines for Turkey, initially targeting the TF-X National Fighter Jet Project,” read a statement from Rolls-Royce. Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May had visited Ankara in January to meet with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss a 100 million pound ($125 million) deal between Britain’s BAE Systems and Turkish Aerospace Industries. The signing of the agreement allowed Turkey and Britain to collaborate on the design phase of the TF-X.

I think its better to revisit original threads than to start new ones covering the same discussion
