That is why i refrain from citing verses out of the quran, it becomes a long unfruitful discussion about the verses and in which context they must be seen.

Fact is that jihad is the pinnacle of islam, what we see happening is jihad against the perceived enemies of islam, but also against kafirs. (kurds/shiites) and so on.

Everyone should think about this when their government repeats 'we're not at war with islam, islam is a religion of peace'.

Extremists do not see themselves as extremists, they base their actions on western interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and now also Syria.
When the question is put forward 'why kill innocent people such as in Paris or like two days ago in Cali'? the answer is the bombs that are falling on markets and cities in Syria kill innocent people too.

The most important part however is that they are real muslims and what groups like IS/al qaeda/al shabaab/boko haram do is to practice their religion islam as it is meant to be.

So while western governments like to point out that 'we are not at war with islam', the other side who are real muslims and practice the real islam without political correctness, they obviously have a different view because a war against them is a war against islam.

Yawn. Just like I hear couch potatos say 'our thoughts and prayers are with the victims'. But they never take any action. Face it people 'thoughts' and 'prayers' don't do sh!t in preventing anything like this,as well as protesting, etc. just like this campaign won't accomplish anything. People talk a lot but don't say (or do) anything.

Well maybe maybe not after all they just made this deceleration, but it's a giant step in doing so, for if they did they would be a good counter balance to Wahhabism.

Fact is that jihad is the pinnacle of islam, what we see happening is jihad against the perceived enemies of islam, but also against kafirs. (kurds/shiites) and so on.

Quran, Surah 109, Pickthall Translation.

Al-Kafiroon/Kafirun (The Disbelievers)

1. Say: O disbelievers!

2. I worship not that which ye worship;

3. Nor worship ye that which I worship.

4. And I shall not worship that which ye worship.

5. Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

6. Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

This is the entire Surah/Revelation on how we're supposed to treat "kafir"/disbelievers, so there's no need for "context". Kafiroon/Kafirun is just the plural form of the word. We believe the Qur'an is divided into separate revelations from God (called surahs & surats), not "chapters". So this surah is literally God making a separate revelation commanding us to treat disbelievers like this. If there are Muslims who aren't doing this, they're acting against what the Qur'an literally tells us to do.

As for jihad, there are 2 levels of jihad. The first is purifying ourselves, aka "cleansing our inner vices & becoming the best people we can be". And the 2nd level is purifying our surroundings. My 2nd level jihad is to fight against world hunger, homelessness, bigotry, oppression, war, child abuse, and abuse against women. I hate all of those with the passion of 1,000 newlyweds! So I put my money where my mouth is by working w/causes that fight against them.
I want to turn the world into a socialist, peaceful safe haven.

Of course, there are others who treat the 2nd level of jihad the same way some Christians treat "crusades". Just as there are violent Buddhist sects & violent Hindu movements. The use of violence to solve problems is a human problem that isn't limited to any specific ideology or religion. But when pacifists like me try to get people to stop fighting & start dialogues, we're mocked & rejected for it.

you are guilty of following these quotes yourself. You (your country) was perceived as attacked and you justified hitting them wherever they were when you served in the armed forces. How many did you kill??? It was a time of war right?? Everything you quote was during a time of war, and if you read it all it explains exactly as such.
You know exactly what it says but your bias developed during time of war when you served only allows for you to try and spread only a hateful half truths and whole lies due to your anger and desire for revenge.

Why dont you just go do another tour and keep on fighting, thats what you want really anyways. It shows in much of your posts on Islam around here. Just go back and fight, it IS what you want and are constantly advocating for. Go, they will take you back.

Daaaaaang!!! That's like rap battle verse! (Calms down from the initial cheering & composes self.)

Exactly. How can people who volunteer to go kill people in wars turn around and act righteous about a passage telling people to defend themselves, their families, and their places of worship by killing people in war? Every living creature has a right to self defense. Even plants & vegetation have self defense mechanisms. But the same people who advocate "Stand your ground" self-defense laws act like Muslims are supposed to just lay down and let invaders kill them. That's just dumb. How can people realistically hold others to a standard they won't even follow?

Stop your apologist crap

Seriously, apologist crap?

Because I can read and understand whats written, I am an apologist.

We are talking about a religion that abuses women enmass removes people's heads for just punishment, I can go on and on.

A religion cannot abuse anyone, yes many cultures treat women quite badly but it has very little to do with religion.

No point in trying to explain, you wouldn't understand.

I could go on and on as well.

however I make no apology for any religion nor should you.

I haven't, I just pointed out that you simply don't understand what you posted, did you even read it?

There is nothing "peaceful" about this, no not all Muslims are extremists and I never would make that claim but some are, and a staggering amount upwards of 28% have extremists views, and a lesser amount who are jihadist.

Yes and?

logically speaking 1 in 3 people of any race or religion would have extremist views towards one thing or another,

You people that feel the need to keep screaming 'OH the Muslims are out to get us' show just as much fanaticism as the people you want to condemn.

I do hate the (extremist)ideas and the incompatibility with our culture, let me ask you a question, how many Islamic extremists are acceptable in your world?

When I see extremism I try to speak against it, same goes for ignorance, hence why I responded to what I did.

I wasn't being an apologist but pointing out the ignorance in your post and your interpretation of what you quoted, sorry if it offends you.

Hate as you hate extremism is extremist in itself, sorry you cant realize that.

Its ignorance that easily leads one to an extremist thought pattern and then hate gets thrown around, hate will eat you from the inside out.

Further don't insult my intelligence or call me an extremists, that does not further your argument just makes you look weak.

Your quote-"Yes its wrong when extremists use these doctrines to influence, just as wrong as other extremists using them to tar all of Islam or what ever religion is being attacked. "

yea, ok buddy

Yeah OK buddy yourself,

You feel like your doing the righteous thing just like the brainwashed fools following ISIS do.

Both are extreme views when you cannot rationally think and comprehend simple lines of text.
