The World is in Peril: What the World needs now?

Forgive the length of this op. But I think something has to be said here and now.

For my heart aches for our civilization, our world


Friends, Americans, foreigners, and countrymen lend me an ear

To all the great thinkers and philosophers and ordinary thinkers

All are invited to pitch in you’re ideas

Just keep it civil, please

In light of this new tragedy I had a post I just wrote saying the world needs something—some kind of movement maybe, new ideas?

Maybe a new perspective on religion, on humanity, unity or community or political upheaval—or is it that illusive idea of Love that is so lacking in our civilization.

You see its one thing I’ve perceived and its this:

Were not talking too each other anymore. Were only speaking at each other and to ourselves—our own self congratulating fruit, and not listening to the other side at all.


And that’s just not working


I don’t know…
…do we need a new world teacher, a social commentator or reformer, a new John Kennedy…maybe a Jesus, a Buddhah, the Mahdi.

I know I hear many of you: We don’t need any more goddam religion

Maybe you’re right… but we need something folks; cause at this rate were not going to make it too much further


And maybe that’s the way it should be. Maybe that’s the way it’s designed—our destruction.


But I don’t believe in quitting…giving in to a bad destiny without a fight!

But that still leaves us with the fact that the world is hungry for something, thirsty, drowning, yearning and all this crazy violence is indicative of that

canary in a coal mine telling us we have little light left

Maybe justice, maybe more wealth or less wealth, I don’t know. Socialism, more capitalism, more religion, a combination of the two, less religion? more guns, less guns. more freedom, less freedom...Is it that simple?

I doubt it

Maybe then if not a new perspective on religion or politics of some kind, then what?

Maybe an idea. Maybe an idea on Love; a new idea of human relationships? A new political idea. An old idea?

Is that what’s lacking?

What are the ideas here? or maybe a serious of ideas?

What does the world need now to deliver us out of this seemingly inevitable self-destruction?

Or is this just the way it supposed to be. Do we all secretly crave the intrigue of evil just for drama sake?

Of course until we become the victims

So I invite all, from Jesse Ventura to Skeptic Overlord, to the great wise philosophers and thinkers here to the less well known and those less thought of….Your ideas are as valuable as anyone’s and those who lurk in the background and never post—you may have the answer

When the world accepts the new church, without any betrayal. When the world can accept humanity as a doctrine and not a obligation of guilt. We can all sit together around that round table and speak of a better world for our future children to live in.

Willtell is right, we need a spiritual leader who transcends religion and politics, but not one who forces a new religion and government upon us all.

Also, we need to use social media as a power for good. ATS is but a drop in the ocean of the social media world but this site and many others like it allow minds of the world to congregate and discuss important topics.

And it is amazing how much common ground can be found when we do so.

I wanted to live the american dream.

People need to mind their own business, stop being offended by any little thing, stop making crime out of something that causes no one any harm.
For each person who is offended by something that someone else is doing there is someone who is offended by what the first person is doing.
Don't like what I do then don't watch and I will do the same for you.
If common sense ruled we would not have the problems we have today.

the best way to get the message to everyone is arguably the internet. the more people are discussing ethics and philosophy, the better. we have to save ourselves. just by being a nice person to everyone you meet is all you can do really. set an example and hope everyone else does their part.

let's be honest here.

For far to long now. A tiny percept has had to much control. Over far to many.

How comes?

Knowledge.


The knowledge they have kept to themselves. And abused us with since day .

The only thing to steer us away from killing our selves off that I can think off is "external intervention". By the time all eyes are in the skies our problems will just resolve to nothingness.

As a new reality sets in, and we realize how insignificant fighting each other becomes.

I disagree that ATS is but a drop on the social media ocean. I find more and more people that have heard of it and ask me about it.

NWO one world government I think you elude to. That part is inevitable. Try diplomacy with an alien planet with 196 countries. Not gonna happen.

My solution is an Integral, holistic approach, actually I’m still investigating.

When I learned years ago that all the major religious teachers, barring none, were what can be called Integral Metaphysicians.

In other words: Muhammad wasn’t a Muslim

Jesus wasn’t a Christian

Moses wasn’t a Jew

Buddha wasn’t a Buddhist

I could go on and on

The point is that most problems have a multifaceted solution. To concentrate on one angle to the exclusion of all others is a recipe for failure

These founders of some of our religions practiced anything they deemed would assist in their quest for truth far and above what their religious inheritors do today and yesterday.

The point is that we have to look at our tendency for self destruction on all levels of consciousness and that will cover all bases

If not something vital will be neglected

Politics works on the same principle.

ALL TOO MUCH SOCIALISM OR ALL TOO MUCH CAPITALISM WILL PRODIUCE A UNHEALTHY IMBALANCE

There is a happy medium to reach and remaining vigilante then to maintain and keep that balance

That actually is somewhat a conservative philosophy in terms of methodology not philosophically

Methods and philosophy are two different things

We all want to become ultimately conservatives but only when we reach that perfect balance between the individual and the sate and the community.

Therein the excesses of extreme poverty, psychological damage, and social ills will be wiped out to a great degree.

Then and only then will there be something worth conserving and that is the methodology that was utilized to arrive at his balance. Why conserve something that doesn't produce good results for all

Liberalism becomes necessary when the imbalance of an imperfect sytem become manifest and the urge to change has to activate.

When the urge to conserve is activated too early when extremes of society are still too glaring then conservative principles become reactionary and only preserve for those already as individuals who have arrived at material equilibrium.

The world is getting smaller. The world getting smaller will lead to a centralized place to run it from. Not a single leader for the entire world, but a council. That is where I think it is going.

It;s a good thing. We won't have to deal with people like Michelle Bachmann being seriously considered to anything more than Greet you at TGI Fridays.

There ya got it Will. We can see this all day long on ATS. "I know, you don't". And what you call congratulating fruit I call preaching to the choir. Do we see many long threads with discussion? Some but mostly the long threads are threads full of ''mine over yours' and the proverbial 'ain't we great and all the rest stupid."

Even here if we spent more time making attempts to find things to like about what others say rather than looking for the faults in their positions we might all learn something. I learned something from you Will. Thanks.

I was more alluding to other social media like Facebook and Twitter. Yes, ATS is awesome and it is my personal favourite site on the web.

We need a government that isn't trying to keep its citizens afraid all the time.Thats one thing. Terror this and terror that,and they are coming to get you oh my! We need doctors that aren't prescribing mental health drugs that were never intended for those under 18.

We need a government that stays home and takes care of its citizens like it wants its citizens to take care of it.Pretty simple.

So.... A non corrupt UN then?

I don't want decisions for my country being made in any other place than my country. I am happy however for my country to participate in fair and equal dialogue with everyone else.

A one world government removes that right and a centralised power gets to call the shots for everyone, which becomes biased and non representative of the people.

Besides, I am 99.9% sure that they are already contacting us one by one, nation by nation Marian apparitions anyone?
Take a look at where 'she' has been - pretty much everywhere, and that does include the Muslim world too.
