because a hypothesis is an unproven theory.

Beat me to the punch!

In addition to all of that, the impression I got was that the poster was implying that the potential comet which was alleged to have induced the Younger Dryas contributed to a worldwide flood if which is entirely fallacious and not even supported by the YD cometary hypothesis. It just seems like a lot of stretching in order to connect dots that don't actually exist. Now, back to the topic at hand...
