The self righteous right wing propaganda strikes again. Here we go with the stereo types of the poor. I once saw a guy on foodstamps buy 16 lobsters driving a Ferrari. can 16 lobsters drive a Ferrari?

I think the reason people support government handouts (telling turn of phrase) is that they believe that people should not have to rely on charity to avoid absolute poverty and starvation.

I think it's more that they support the welfare state because they believe people should not have to rely on themselves and their community, but can skirt personal responsibility for state responsibility.

In a democracy (loose sense of the word) Isn't the state just the community organised?

Do you think that the basic essentials of life should be at the whim of charitable actions and if so do you think that charitable actions are ever going to be sufficient?

Food, shelter, and clothing aren't "rights"!

So three basic neccessities for a life we are born into,
we have no right to at all? What good are all the other rights
if we don't even have the right to survive? I suppose you think
it's okay that a woman/man is enslaved 30 yrs to the roof over
her/his head. By a financial institution so rigid that if they
perform as humans and get sick or have a family problem?
Opps well, GTFO! Oh you made it 39 and half years
on your forty year loan! Congrads, to bad you been sick these
last two months, now GTFO! What you don't understand is this
world wasn't even meant to be. At all and to fail in this world?
Isn't failure at all. I'm just glad it won't last one more decade.
