I didn't have anyone around today. My boys both had to work, so we're planning on having Thanksgiving on Saturday.

I spent this morning listening to music and just sitting around in my pajamas. My brother happened to come over around noon with a coupon from the local casino (where the food is always great, by the way) for two free buffet dinners.

Afterwards, I took a nice nap and now I think I'll find to a movie to watch.

I'm alone today - and this is my #1 reason I actually would rather work on the holidays.

I went to my family party, but even there I was alone. As the oddball of the family, I kind of expected it, but everyone at the party had someone (including my siblings). Felt like an outsider even in my own family, so I quietly left.

For me, the problem with the holidays is that after everything is said and done...well, there's no-one to even come home to or go out and do something with. When I had someone, at least the night ended watching movies till one or both of us fell asleep; Not saying I miss the person in question, but rather I miss the act of doing something with the person once the day has ended.

Bah Humbug!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I fell asleep for a little while after reading.

Nightstar, I was reading Born of Betrayal by Sherilyn Kenyon.

There are so many wonderful posts, I don't know where to start, so I will just say this; you are all so amazing and thank you for joining me on this thread today. Even though we don't know each other out side of ATS, it's nice to know we are connected somehow. Many hugs to all of you.

I don't really celebrate this holiday anyway, personally. But warm wishes to all who are likewise by themselves today, or any day of the year. *Virtual hugs*

Peace.

Nightstar, you are so respected and appreciated around here. I hope you are doing well. I know the last couple months have been tough. Stay strong.

Thank you so much! Life loves to throw punches at me and see if I'll get back up again. I'm still up, but it isn't easy.

Just want to say, love you all! We never have to be completely alone as long as we have each other in here. I know it can really make a difference for some. Always let your little lights shine on!

A special thank you to Calstorm for bringing people together in here. See, you weren't completely alone.
