a reply to: KashaiAccording to a strategist at consulting company Ecstrat, crude oil is now trading at what is known as "half cycle costs"; that is, roughly the cost of getting the oil out of the ground.

His point is that $42 oil does not account for other important costs....

Among the problems that occurred during the first depression was the advent of technology. If you owed a restaurant in those days. You were placed in a position of firing the 20 or so dishwashers and replace then all with machines. Instead of 20 dishwashers you need two, to load the machine.

Instead of 150 thousand slaves to collect cotton. One in a position such a position as to own such properties. One could by far, pick as much cotton, with machines that needed only 15,000 staff to process it for distribution.

A substantive change.

If the powers that "be" were so interested in undermining the human position due to an effort in conspiracy for just that purpose?

Why would they allow us access to double our longevity and presumably seconds in communication of respondents that are interested in conversation?

We build the system’s roads, we build their monuments, we supply their banquets, we build and drive their limousines, we build their governor’s mansions, and we cut their grass and install their air conditioning and repair their roofs.

We pay their policemen and their firemen and their tax men.
We pay for their cars and their gas and their guns and their bullets and their uniforms.

Without us, they have nothing but words.
that's all part of my thread.........if we all worked together we could control gas prices by not buying.

I read where the traders of this country thought we would all be spending more with gas prices low but apparently we are driving past the mall, taking our gas and going home .........

Gasoline prices: We show prices for Italy from 24-Aug-2015 to 30-Nov-2015. The average value for Italy during that period was 1.61 U.S. Dollar with a minimum of 1.54 U.S. Dollar on 30-Nov-2015 and a maximum of 1.67 U.S. Dollar on 24-Aug-2015. For comparison, the average price of gasoline in the world for this period is 1.28 U.S. Dollar.

Source

Essentially Gasoline is a dollar more in general in the U.S. than it is in Italy despite that fact that Italy produces about 1000 barrels of oil per day.

Meanwhile....

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) cannot determine the exact amount of crude oil produced in the United States that is consumed, as refined products, in the United States. However, most of the crude oil produced in the United States is refined by U.S. refineries. The United States also produces other liquids that are used in the refining process or that are added to refined products. In June 2015, the United States produced an average of about 9.3 million barrels of crude oil per day, about 4.1 million barrels per day of other noncrude petroleum liquids, and about 1.1 million barrels per day of biofuels.

The United States exports small volumes of domestically produced crude oil, most of it to Canada, which may actually return to the United States as refined products. EIA is not able to track how much domestically produced crude oil is exported in the form of refined petroleum products.

Since May 2011, the United States has been a net exporter (exports were greater than imports) of noncrude petroleum liquids, refined petroleum products, and biofuels. The volume of net exports of U.S. noncrude petroleum liquids and products in June 2015 was equivalent to about 10% of the total volume of U.S. petroleum consumption in June 2015.

Prices in general go down when no one is buying.

The government works for us they need to be reminded
they right now have there hands in everything even our toothpaste
our every move.
10th amendment was for, reserving all other powers than those enumerated to the federal government for the states.
The states should be providing these programs if they so choose and if they work they will compete with other states for populace and hence power in the House. This is how it was meant to be.

Are you familiar with the American Civil war?

Do you have any idea as to the Ramifications as to a Civil War in the United States today?

I mean in a very literal sense, it used to be like that.

Any thoughts?

If I understand you correctly...

Because they feed off our emotional energy? As the cycles speed up to a major confluence maybe an awakening - they know the game is up. They only have so much time before they are held accountable. They're squabbling and leeching as much as they can by dragging out our suffering.

Increasing our lifespan in this existence does not bring enlightment but more "sensation" further cementing us into this realm of physicallity. Fat BigPharma and the age care industry consolidates more wealth extending life but creating more illness (more need for intervention);

problem reaction solution

I'm keen to read your thoughts

Yes but by the 30's technology like dishwashers, street cleaners, washing machines and so on had begun to effectively replace the work force that did functioned at that level of labor. Leaders then had no idea as to the consequences of
releasing technology into society.

A longer life span means the opportunity akin to the ability to control fire, meant more time to think. Technology not just in the case of communications makes it possible for individuals to invest more time in thought as well.

If a person is in his 50's today there is a good way better chance they will make to 100 than those who are in there 80's today. A person who is 21 today will probably make it to 115. Babies born today will likely make to 130.

Over the next 500 years, in potential of how long a human could live, could actually be incredible by current standards.

One example is stem cell technology which today can replace ears, parts of the heart and various other procedures. We will learn in time how to replace every organ or part in the body.

Pharmaceuticals companies in so much as they exist today will simply not exist in the future, just as thousands of employees needed to keep the streets clean was needed in the past.

You seem to know very little about American History and then of course there are the issues related to the nuances and details historically.

The party of Lincoln was involved in protecting the efficacy of our the United States during the American Civil war. They are culpable for allowing citizenship to become a matter of birthright.

Any thoughts?

Thats 70's thinking. The evidence would show otherwise

Life expectancy to drop for first time in 1000 years By Jacqueline Maley and Mark Todd March 18, 2005 Page Tools Australians could be eating themselves to an early death, with new research suggesting life expectancy will decline for the first time in 1000 years due to the obesity epidemic. A paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine predicts a decrease in life expectancy, which rose slowly but steadily last millennium. Experts say Australia will mirror the trend. The drop will occur when the current generation of obese and overweight adults reaches old age, and will worsen when obese and overweight children hit middle age.

Notice from the above....how its been increasing even before the industrial revolution

success. As we’re living longer and our health system has gotten better, no longer are people dying of heart disease at age 50 so now they’re dying of heart disease later when they have other things like cancer as well,” says DuGoff. Whatever gains improved health care has provided may be eroded by the effect of these accumulating chronic conditions. “We need to reorient our healthcare system to care for chronic conditions. If we don’t reorientate ourselves in that way, the impact of chronic conditions on life expectancy could be extremely negative.”

"...what makes you think you and I get to play in that playground of the "entitled"?"

In the aftermath of World War 2 the Eastern Hemisphere was deplete/striped of Industrial Capacity. As a result the United States was placed in the position of being the only Industrialized Country to be capable of doing the work necessary to rebuild the Eastern Hemisphere.

What our Planet needs is more resources and ultimately that means colonizing our Solar System.
