Capt Konstantin Murakhtin, pilot of the plane Turkey shot down, gave a statement on Russian TV. The first video in the BBC link is of Muraktin giving his statement. In the background, you can see the Spoon Rest radar in the background. This is the same radar they have at the back gate to Groom Lake.

Hi - I have seen the 1RL131 Terek radar in pictures supposedly from Syria.
I do not see how this is connected to the 'Back Gate Radar' at groom lake.
The 1RL131 Terek (Spoon Rest) - I think came out about 1979 and any version using a similar antenna array must be an upgraded system..

I guess to be more accurate, the Russian radar at the back gate is more Nellis related than Groom.
