MSNBC is reporting that the UN has released info that says Egypt performed nuclear experiments that could lead to weapons within the last few years:

www.msnbc.msn.com...

"VIENNA, Austria - The U.N. atomic watchdog agency has found evidence of secret nuclear experiments in Egypt that could be used in weapons programs, diplomats said Tuesday.
The diplomats told The Associated Press that most of the work was carried out in the 1980s and 1990s but said the International Atomic Energy Agency also was looking at evidence suggesting some work was performed as recently as a year ago."

Though Egypt is nominally a US ally, there are strong fundamentalist elements within its military... and Egypt, itself, was the home to the modern fundamentalist movement in the 40s and 50s.

just what the doctor ordered another middle eastern state, experimenting with making a nuke. Its's great to see that the UN atomic agency is doing a stand up job in mointoring the spread of nuclear weapons. Irsael manged to get the bomb, iran is either in the process of making one or has one or two already, saddam was trying, or succeed and sold it to either iran or osma or some other friendly arab country!!

Iran is not going to listen untill they get a friendly visit from the USAF Bomber crews or irsael decided's to lob bomb over the border to make sure the progam is stopped.

What is iran or irsael going to do if egypt got a bomb it would upset the balance of power in the region

This data showed up on the FAS website months ago discussing finding enriched uranium "just laying" on the ground. The IAEC investigated and said it was nothing. Looks like it was "something".
