They insist there were happy Muslims dancing around Main Street in Paterson and elsewhere.

Another link to another liberal hit-piece mentioning something that happened 40 years ago. Was he convicted of anything?

It's information regarding the actual case. Everyone can read for themselves what I posted. You choose to see it as a hit piece - OK. The facts exist all over the internet - not just at HuffPo.You can go see for yourself. In fact, I'm surprised you didn't before you posted

He wasn't exonerated - which is what you claimed:
40 years ago, and the charges were dropped.

You're right. My mistake.

The facts are he was sued for allegedly discriminating back in the 70s. I can agree with that. But it seems allegations is all you have to support your argument.

Get out our dictionary Les - I don't think you know what the words bigotry and racism mean

So how is this mean Donald trump is a racist again?

Why don't you help me out then. How is Trump not a racist? Serious question

Curious to see how you answer my other question - maybe that will help me to better understand...

Just found another example. In 2000 when a Native American Casino was attempting to get it's gaming license, Trump took out ads in newspapers that featured hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia with a list of crimes. The ad ended with the question "Are these the new neighbors we want? The St. Regis Mohawk Indian record of criminal activity is well documented. This proposed Monticello Indian Casino will bring increased crime and violence to Sullivan County."

He has a long history of race baiting and scapegoating minorities to create political opposition. If it doesn't at least make you ask questions then you've got your head in the sand.

I'm not sure if Trump is a racist or not. I do not know him, and there are enough conflicts and contradictions to remain skeptical either way. It's a matter of he said she said. But these are serious allegations, ruinous to careers and livelihoods, that I don't think allegations is enough to go out and attempt to make someone a social pariah, engage in a political witch-hunt and support the media in doing so.

As for his monitoring of Muslims, I am opposed to to the monitoring of people by the government in general.

Trump is not suffering - he's ahead in the polls

So am I

When we single out one group however - from all the rest - what would we call that?

I'm asking you one more time - were the Japanese internment camps only Orwellian?

If his allegations towards the criminal activity of the Mohawk band are unfounded, you have a point. But if it is truthful, based on fact, then be careful, because you are misrepresenting the truth because of the color of people's skin.

So if someone from china town commits a crime, is it ok to take out an ad calling all of Chinese criminals? If a white man commits a crime does that make all whites in his community guilty as well? If not, then why is it ok for an ad to use the crimes of individual natives to fear monger the possibility of them becoming your neighbors?

How do you justify an ad that uses the crimes of individuals to paint an entire population as criminals? that's exactly what Trump is doing. To flip this on me and say I'm using the color of peoples skin is ridiculous.

People call themselves Muslim to distinguish themselves from other religions. Labelling? Categorizing? I do not know.

I'm asking you one more time - were the Japanese internment camps only Orwellian?

I thought we were speaking about monitoring Muslims. The Japanese internment camps, though a travesty, were an act of war.

Is this statement untrue?

I never said all natives.

Yes it's untrue to describe it as "The St. Regis Mohawks record of criminal activity" The tribe is not one big homogeneous criminal organization. People within the tribe may have committed crimes, but people in EVERY community commit crimes. I can just as easily dig up crimes of the Aryan brotherhood and say "do you want whites as your neighbors"

It's holding an entire demographic accountable for the actions of individuals.

The Mohawks didn't come together as a group and say "we are a tribe of drug dealers" no, just like Whites, Blacks, Asians, and everyone else in the world some individuals broke laws.

Treating entire demographics as if they are equally guilty is the very definition of prejudice. it's "they rape white women" all over again.

You said all Chinese, and attempted to compare it to what the ad was saying:

"So if someone from china town commits a crime, is it ok to take out an ad calling all of Chinese criminals?"

No the ad was not taking out an ad saying all natives were criminals. That would have been racist.

LesMisanthrope If trump came out and said "we should ban Sony from doing business in America because the Japanese are Yakuza" would you be making this argument?

There is no difference in that and "the Mohawks can't have a casino because they are criminals"

It's especially stupid when you consider the history of mafia involvement in the casino industry. It's not like it's a pure noble business before the mohawks came along with their guilt by association. It's really hard to justify those ads with out accepting prejudice.

Yes it's untrue to cite the mohawks criminal activities as if they are one big homologous criminal organization, you seem to be ignoring that in favor of semantics.

Care to tell me how it's not untrue? Are you suggesting that any Mohawk attempting to build a business in that community is guilty by association?

Of course it's untrue to say an entire demographic is linked to drug dealing and other crimes.
