You will never defeat a terrorist group with just airstrikes.

Tell the Russians that. They've done more in the War on Terror in a month than the US claims to have done in a year. If the Russians are fighting the war on terror doesn't that make them US allies? Why is NATO shooting down Russians if everyone is on the same side?

The Russians have accomplished nothing so far other then a lot if complaints to the UN and human rights groups screaming about them using cluster munitions

Isis is still going along just fine and all Russia has managed to do was alienate the other groups in suits against them as well. They have done no damage to isis and are waisting time attacking turks on the border. The only threat they are is to assaad

you know why this video is censored, right?

it s a russian video of a russian airstrike, which the yus tries to sell as their own.

Pathetic. www.rt.com...

No. That is what you call sloppy journalism. The US released videos are genuine and are NOT from Russian strikes. You can tell from the targeting pods used. All that has happened here is a new room editor/reporter has went looking on line for "oil tanker/oil depot" and used it in the report. Can you not see how easy it would be for a news team person to not know the difference between the various targeting pod/masks and simply not double check?

Have a look at the US strike footage.

www.youtube.com...

It is simply a case of a news team splicing in oil strike video without double checking or knowing where it came from. This type of mistake is widespread in regards to all news media. They never double check and are generally clueless about military footage.

So now do you see how this mix-up happened. Because people like yourself haven't double-checked they are already trolling the following US military YT Channel and claiming that their footage is actually Russian strike footage.
All this because people, just like yourself and the media, can't differentiate between US/Coalition and Russian targeting pod/masks.

See 2:23 Colonel Steve Warren is giving his condolences in regards to the Paris attack.

You can see the original footage where the US/PBS news team lifted the segment from of Colonel Steve Warren giving his condolences

See 0:45

The PBS news team then spliced in their own sourced strike footage that they didn't double check. That footage was Russian Air Force and was nothing to do with the original Combined Joint Task Force briefing.

Simply a case of a news team journalist/editor lifting "oil strike video" off the web and using it in their broadcast article. Nothing to do with the original CJTF briefing.

Even more ridiculous is Russia Today using and linking back to that Moonofalabama website article from the 20th November, 2015.

www.moonofalabama.org...

The person that wrote it claims.

The U.S. then claimed to have hit 116 oil tankers while the Russian air force claims to have hit 500. But there is an important difference between these claims. The Russians provided videos showing how their airstrikes hit at least two different very large oil tanker assemblies with hundreds of tankers in each. They also provided video of several hits on oil storage sites and refinery infrastructure.

I have found no video of U.S. hits on Islamic State oil tanker assemblies..

The U.S. PBS NewsHour did not find any either.

It shows you how all media are inept and that includes both Russian (Russia Today) and US (PBS). Russia Today are doubly to blame here as they simply lifted the inaccurate Moonofalabama article and ran with it without checking. The footage of the US AC-130 and A-10s striking the 116 oil tankers at Abu Kamal was uploaded on the 18th November.

The footage was also presented on the 19th November at the press briefing.

The Russians have accomplished nothing so far other then a lot if complaints to the UN and human rights groups screaming about them using cluster munitions

Cluster munitions are the weapon of choice for caught in the open combatants in lightly armored vehicles., i.e., Toyota pickups.

If thats the weapon they are employing then they are using it for that specifically. If the 'terrs' are complaining, then the Russian bombing campaign must be having great effect.

Isis is still going along just fine and all Russia has managed to do was alienate the other groups in suits against them as well. They have done no damage to isis and are waisting time attacking turks on the border.

The only reason they risked escalating the conflict by shooting down a Russian ground attack aircraft would be they were doing a good job bombing any all terrs along the Turkish Syrian border.

ISIS isn't fine, the Russians been running interdiction missions nonstop since they began, they don't drop bombs on nothing, dinkums. Very target rich environment right now.

Cluster munitions are indiscriminate and the legacy is left for civilians to suffer from, which is why their use has been outlawed by many countries and curtailed by others.

Russia do not have the type of precision munitions in use by NATO nations, so they are forced to use the type of munitions that NATO started to move away from two decades ago, including unguided bombs.

The way you kill a Toyota is to destroy just the vehicle with a missile, or a guided bomb, not layer an area with bomblets that will harm civilians long after the conflict has passed.

If the 'terrs' are complaining,

You've gone from calling them "terrorists," which implies they are human beings, to "terrs." Dehumanization complete. Kill them all and let God sort them out, eh?

I don't hear you complaining about those 'humans' shooting pilots hanging in parachutes or burning them alive in cages…

Every single one of your human terrs is in Syria illegally, paid to overthrow a sovereign government by a foreign power.

They murder civilians, ambush the military, lay mines and IED's and run.

When they get caught in the open, frag them.

You need to read my posts, then. I have condemned the Turkmen who shot at the pilots for violating the Geneva Conventions (and wasting the opportunity to take hostages for exchange.) Burning people alive is horrific, and is why DAESH must be stopped. Perhaps Putin should focus his efforts there instead of helping Assad in his Turkmen genocide.

Except for all of the ones born there. The Turkmen are not terrorists, they are fighting against genocide.

That's what the Syrian loyalists do. Are they "terrs?"

When they get caught in the open, frag them.

Who is the "terr" now?

The "Putin" jet(lol), was bombing a caravan of terr fuel trucks heading towards the Turkish border.

Terrorist fuel trucks trying to fund their operations in Syria, being defended by NATO jets.

Yes, tell me who supports International terrorists? And why this thread was started to cover it all up, giving the illusion NATO is fighting against the terrorists in Syria when they actually sponsor them?

It actually makes sense in light of the fact that a "war" is only really truly won when the hearts and minds of the population are won. I do believe the lessons on this topic are quite abundant in history as a whole. Of course, there are many who say more bombs. etc. will eventually do the trick. But that could take years!...oh, we already DO that, lol. But this really isn't a 'conventional' war. It's a war on ideology and cultural attitudes. But, for anyone who supports endless wars with gobs of money flowing to the welfare of constituents involved in working for the military industrial complex, I could see where the gist of your OP makes sense.

So typical. This president seems to think it's good policy to tell our enemies what he will do before doing it. Who side is he on anyway? The correct answer to that question is nothing short of terrifying for America!
