The video wasn't really appropriate in any case, and I wanted to write something about rum, but changed my mind. It seems in my poetic fervor it it appeared in any case.

I'm doing intelligence gathering on vegetables, and will report back soon in verse.

Vegetarian, huh? OK, I'll do my best, but I'm way outside my element.

Confused as I stare at my platter.
What is this little sprig of green matter?
I did not order it, yet here it sits.
Standing out on the plate as if it had epileptic fits.
I fork the piece up and bring to my nose.
No major smell, neither tasty nor gross.
I build up my courage to do what I must.
I open my mouth to let out a gust.
The little piece of green parsley flies through the air.
Finally, my steak is ready to eat, sans any greenery and cooked very rare.

Alas. one can do little more
To convert the carnivore.

Forget about the vegan ranting
Today they call that diet Banting.

Forget trying to educate
When dead cows make them salivate.

The carrot is long
Grows in dirt
So much goodness
It makes
my heart smirk.

In school they never lied
Trace elements
And fibre personified.

Gnaw it just peeled
Or give them a chop
And you'll rarely ask
What's up with me Doc?

I drop the aubergine slice
Into my pan
I turn them, and spice it
As best as I can.

I just watched the news
Where's my chilled glass of wine?
Tonight once again with fear
I shall dine.

As we slide deeper
Into World Three
I'm cooking this meal
For both you and me.

I guess it is true in war and dating
That men are born free
But the chains are waiting.
