No matter how you choose to dine,
On lentils or on carcass of swine.

Gentlemen I raise my glass ...

Have a toast with me brother,
The avocados are green
Just like a new lover.

To die with you is an honor.

In the freezing sea.

Somebody please,

Help me and give me coconut milk.

My arms and legs have frozen.

I am just a head - and still they won't help.

I'm drowning, I can't swim
This orange has a vitamin.

I thought I'd crash your party, I hope you don't mind!
Your thread made me want to write a rhyme.

Our crudités will be crackers and cheese.
It isn’t the vegans I’m trying to please.

We are carnivores that’s for sure,
with unhealthy portions of starch that leaves us begging for more.

The turkey will glisten with butter and spice
and the glaze on the ham will be quite nice.

Friends and family from across the state
will be loading meat and potatoes onto their plate.

The aroma from the kitchen to my guests it beckons.
They will gobble their plates and go back for seconds.

The dessert buffet will be heavy with dough.
And wine filled glasses will be sure to overflow.

Now the games are over and nighttime is here.
Everyone’s bellies are full of food, liquor, and beer

Turkey and Ham sammiches for everyone!
Thanksgiving is finally done!

Potato, potato,
My flavorite tuber.
Goodbye potato.

You say potato, I say the same.
Mashed or baked, you will never be lame.
drenched in gravy or topped with chives,
your starchy beauty makes me feel alive.

Your chips are tasty, and crunchy to boot
I peel you and await the bountiful loot
You look good in white and you can be sweet
and when you're paired with a T-bone you can't be beat.

I respect your decision
To dine on nothing but veggies and fruit
But I have a mission
To dine on critters that squeal, oink and root

A Haiku to cheese
Cheese is Heavens gift to us
I would like some cheese

I would never be so rude
To make this all about the food.

In Africa another headline
We who live
Below the breadline.

Slam it all into your belly
Leave a space
There's room
For jelly.

Brie and Cheddar smells
Like my comrades
When they take their boots off.

But the taste on your tongue.

I never knew an angel could piss on your tongue.

Pale and silken tofu, thou art like the white
Of a rotting whale's eyeball,

Who invented you in fits of syphillic madness?
Who pasted those beans
Who tortured this mess into
perfect rectangles of wet nonsense food?

Go die now you horrible glob of jellied ick.
Infect my stir fry no more!

In front of the fridge wide-open I stood
I reached for a carrot, thinking it good

I cut and sliced and hacked it to bits
Some fell on the floor and the dog would eat it

Then into the wok so sizzling hot
Adding the rest of the veggies I got

Having the hunger hardly I wait
Spooning the medley on to the plate

If i didnt have veggies I just could not bare it
Always I remember to start with a carrot

The carrot, my friend is the spice of life!

We can seek and never find.

But just pieces of carrots.

And we're not going blind.

Stir fry stir fry oh how you lack
Please oh please bring my pork back

You taste ok but lack the flavour
Where is the beef for me saviour?

Cooking down you begin to thicken
But somethings missing is it chicken?

It's spicey hot made just for you
Protein supplement bagged tofu!

Heat up milk with lemon juice

Make them simmer into curds and whey.

Instant cheese.

So delicious.

Not to say that I'm a bumpkin'
But I really love my pumpkin.

Orange yeah, but what a dish!
It even makes the poor feel rich.

Tear and pull the plastic back
Is this real food or is it crap?

Butcher's meat or veggie Swami
Just scoff it down
This is the army.

I cannot say it's done with ease
To savor bits of top-notch cheese.

The flavor melts
I do remember
Just like tomatoes
In November.
