If you hang out in a place called, "Bunny Friend Park", you have to expect this kind of thing to happen...

Yeah, criminals and mentally ill who pay no regard to the law, shooting people who are not armed because they either follow the law, because a wide open place like a park (shooting range) is more often than not a "Gun Free Zone", or somehow believe themselves to be safe.

If the shooters KNEW they would probably be fired back on they wouldn't have pulled the trigger to begin with.

The cesspool begins way farther north and doesn't quit till Key West.

North Georgia line from east to west all across the country, then everything to the south of that with pockets like Chicago and Lafayette Indiana and such scattered around.

Heck, just the entire country then....

A great example of USA gun laws working their magic. Lol.

Somehow, I doubt that the perpetrators here acquired their weapons legally. This is most likely related to gang activity, something New Orleans has no shortage of. The homicide rate is what, ten times the national average?

Good points to ponder....

But measuring things like homicide rates is akin trying to fix something after it already broke from what one knows to be neglect and / or lack of maintenance.

When the KKK was burning and blowing up black churches, lynching blacks and killing activists, they were pointing out that going to church and trying to pray something away wouldn't work.

Nobody saw it for what it was and probably never will.

Good old fashioned corruption.

Gang activity? Fight? Something more?

How terrifying. O wait, thats terrible. Whoops, lets just assume its a terror incident, yah we can get behind that.

Terrorist activity threatens the safety of everyone within the target country. An isolated gang fight, no matter how violent, does not.

Thus, people tend to be not so reactionary about the latter if it happens beyond the boundaries of their immediate neighbourhood.

Any shooting of innocent people is a terrorist incident . Now Islamic terrorist remains to be seen. I have an idea, maybe these big hard gang members can kill ISIS instead of each other.

Especially if the media doesn't wring every ounce of terror from it, playing it over and again. Right? Whats worse? The incident or 24/7 fanning the terror flames and declaring Marshall law?

How about invading and bombing whole countries, does that affect anyone outside the "target country" if they don't see it on TV?

We used to call that crime and criminals, not terrorism and terrorists. Somewheres along the way an 'agendized' propaganda machine took over, replacing our sentiments with anti sentiment.

We all know a war on crime is unwinable, better call it something else-- Aha, a war on terror.

Whomever the shooters were, they weren't very good shots, they need more training.

Of course it was a gang war.. I was shocked to see all these comments. AS IF New Orleans is the only city in the states that has gangs. Right.

How is this a gun control issue? Criminals have firearms whether they are legal nor not.
