Americas most famous 'illegal ALIEN' viewed the United States of America as a multicultural melting pot. This anti-racism poster was distributed to schools in the 1950s.

"KEEP YOU SCHOOL ALL AMEIRCAN
The concept of not accepting someone due to their race, religion or national origin is UN-American.

No one can deny that US was was founded and built on the backs of Immigrants.
Interesting to see how the social issues facing the US today was around back in the day and made its way on to a very popular form of social commentary and story telling.

The Superman story faces many of the same struggles immigrants today face, he was in essence a refugee, sent here for a better life by his parents.

Anyway, thought some of you might enjoy this, no doubt some of you will hate it.
Whatevs...

Goddamned straight!

As a former member of the "All American", I stand firmly in allegiance with Clark's admonishment.

I'm sick of this "Make America Great Again" Bull#.

America is great.

Would have been possible if all religions/faith/culture where equal. But they are not. Culture is not equal and give the people living in it equal opportunity/rights.

Where do you draw the line at you tolerance of practice of religion/faith?

Will you be tolerant of Nazi if they create a religion?
Will you be tolerant of a KKK religion inspiring race hate against people of other skin color?
Do you think Zionist (the Jewish version of supremacist) should be tolerated even if they are creating Apartheid systems against Palestinians?
Should you be tolerant of the Wahhabi (ISIS/taliban) who say all should be Muslim or pay them tribune or die that have scripture on their side?
Wahhabi/Salafi/Conservative or muslim/Muslim that are inspired by sufi teachings? Where do you draw the line?

If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.

We've been here for a little more than 200 hundred years. You don't don't think that projects like this hit some snags?

Britain lost an empire, yet they truck-on.

You are short sighted and your enthusiasm for painting America as a failure is telling.

And superman also fought against dangerous anti-American ideologies that insist you believe as they do or face death, like the nazis in the 1940s superman comics.

Great stuff, speaking against racism and intolerance are not new in America. Some people act like it is or even actually believe that it is and that this "new" trend threatens their traditions and values.

That's what I've been trying to get across.

But apparently people think that it's shameful to protect the rights of everyone equally.

Everyone wants to talk about the constitution until it's time to defend it for real.

Fox News, the Tea Party and others, along with the internet, have created a whole new level of hatred and ignorance in this country. If they didn't create it, the have given it a new life, and exposed it for what it is.

Many of us who are conservative and have supported the Tea Party efforts don't think like this.

I know that, and try not to paint with a broad brush. I am Taxed Enough Already as well, but those efforts have been co-opted, and the ignorance and hate that come from their candidates should not be acceptable to any American, Donald Trump wants to tag Muslims, seriously WTH? And he leads the Republican polls, registered Republicans should be hanging their heads in shame. Not that the Democratic side is any better.

I know the feeling brother.

If Trump is the best we can do...

I like Rand Paul. But he's been largely ignored by the media, and as a result, the voters.

I also believe that right wing voters, like left wing voters, have no real interest in preserving constitutional rights...But will certainly place their efforts in eroding the right of each other until no one has anything.

It's a mess. The system is definitely broken if all we can come up with is a Criminal in Hillary Clinton, an economically illiterate Socialist in Bernie Sanders, and a bottom feeding fascist in Trump.

We're screwed man.

I liked a lot of things that Ron Paul had to say, unfortunately, I think Rand fell a little far from the tree, he has made some pretty stupid comments as well. I kind of had my hopes set on Kassich until he came up with that Judeo/Christian gov't agency to broadcast our beliefs to the world. Hillary Clinton - criminal, check. Bottom feeding fascist - Trump, check. Bernie Sanders, I don't think he is an illiterate socialist, but I don't think he is electable. Somebody has to have a better candidate.

I agree, we are screwed.

Lets accept your premise that some cultures are inferior. Why is that a reason to trample them?

What is your definition of Trample?

What actions do you consider objectionally morally ok to cause a change in the cultures? Do you cuddle a dogma/culture by staying silent to keep the peace with that culture or do you accept that you have to meet the problems head on? Do you allow history revision to let the culture put itself at it's best even if it is a self delusional/propaganda?

From my point of view culture creates karma (the bad kind) by every objectivelly insane actions and every culture can be measured by the fruits (behavior of the people belonging to the culture). Some cultures/religions are enforcing dualistic insanity while others are a cure against dualistic insanity and can be peaceful if the other cultures/religions are peaceful.

Personally I find for example Rumi, Nanak, Krishna, Buddha, Yeshua are people who push humanity towards peace.
I do see Paul the Apostle, Muhammad, Bush, Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu as war makers even if they can be peaceful when it suits their plan.
