They ARE fear-mongering - they're talking about falling on their knees and praying and then war war war war.
And then some war. Because God war.

I feel bad for Rand Paul. He's the only sensible one up there.

Rubio is SO WRONG about why ISIS "hates us" - it's not because women can drive, or we can drink beer and drink and dress however we want - they hate us BECAUSE OF THE DRONE BOMBINGS.

But, if none of you have read "The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11" by Robert Wright, you just don't understand.

Also - this moderator is really, really good.

OMG: Cruz says "I'm neither a psychologist nor a priest" when asked what is Obama's motivation to do what he's doing.

Cruz is blatantly accusing Obama of saying "he doesn't have time for America to win ----"
when pressed by the mod with "Did he actually use those words?"

Cruz: "Yes, yes he did. He said 'I don't wanna talk about American leadership, and I don't wanna talk about America winning; I don't have time for it."

Do you see how Cruz is twisting it? Because no, nonono - Obama said he didn't have TIME TO TALK ABOUT these ridiculous hyperboles.

Gah.
This is insanity.

And Carly is "a dear friend of Bibi" Yeah - Bibi, who hasn't done a damn thing about ANY of this except take our money. A sleazy, smarmy coward.

This argument is invalid. You are talking mostly in "what ifs". That is a never ending circle where everyone loses.

But - but, that's the ATS way - "It's a slippery slope" ...... isn't that what we hear all the time about Progressive ideas?
Well, I happen to think that when we're talking about Theocratic ideas it is a slippery slope indeed.

What if people who had time at that moment just lifted the nation up in prayer?

That's fine. That's just dandy. The world needs more positive thoughts.....
but begging God to do something is a bit, well, immature.

No children dieing in the streets no make believe bell towers just simple positive thoughts by those who are available to do so.

They already ARE free to do that - but when you have politicians calling for it, that's different.

You seem to be going WAY overboard here just to argue.

What I'm actually doing is pointing out (again) that there are THEOCRATS running for office all over this country, and they INTEND to make the USA a theocracy. You get enough of them elected, and then - guess what?

A new law!! We are now a Theocracy!!

people, with all due respect, and all affirmations that a Positive Mental Attitude can indeed work wonders -----
here is the thing:

GOD IS NOT GOING TO FIX THIS! JESUS is not COMING BACK to solve all of these problems!!!
It is a fantasy, and a cop out. Do you truly not see this?

WE HAVE TO DO IT. Not wait for some imaginary savior.

The "morality police" are ON THE GROUND in European areas where Muslims live in free countries. They are also HOLDING ELECTED OFFICE in the USA - (Kim Davis, anyone?) and deciding who can't get married. It makes my stomach turn.

You think it's not possible that America could spawn a bunch more of these "morality police"?

Seems to me that this is just more of George Soros's factory cloned puppets that barge into public events and buildings and make a lot of noisy demands with no substance

What? Are you serious?
How can you compare a simple reminder app to any of that? Talk about leaps and bounds!
It is an app to remind. So that if your not busy you can join other people at that exact moment to put forth those positive thoughts......together.
No one is forcing anyone, it is simply your choice.

Weird.
This sounds like an experiment in quantum physics.
I don't believe in imaginary sky gods and I'm not religious in that respect, but I do know the power of thought and that is the real science behind prayer.

I think the problem is that the average christian has very little contact with the matrix or what they call god.
Perhaps most of their prayers are just echoing off of the walls of their mind and not really projecting out into and connecting to the universal all.
I blame religion and churches for that, as they offer a "middle man" to do all the "dirty work".
You just show up on sunday. The problem in general is, most of these people are so plugged into society and all it's crap, that when they show up on sunday, its just a quick blip and not even near the edge of true communication.

Perhaps this app, would actually get people back into control of the universe through collective thought and collective goals and aspirations. I believe we lost this ability soon after we discovered fire and started really thinking, We quickly developed unnecessary fears and problems, and developed gods to sort them out for us.

The pandering to Israel has always churned my stomach. It says quite a bit when such a small nation has so much power over our politicians.

Rand Paul is the ONLY sane person on that panel, besides the moderator.

That moderator is GREAT - and very much like a psychologist - challenging them DIRECTLY, and insisting on answers....

And - now that he's given his own testimonial about his dad dying, and how hard it was - and that it never went away. But as hard as it was, it pales in comparison to burying a child.

This moderator should be running ALL of the debates, on both sides, in my opinion. This guy is really smart.

I do agree with Rubio that trade school is a very prudent choice. Not all kids/youths are suited to college....
being in the skilled trades is a very lucrative way to earn a living.

I kind of understand what you are writing. Reading about the sciences experimenting with how atoms and such seem to alter their assumed behaviour when observed or not. And the discovery of spooky quantum mechanics altering itself in the future has profound implications on the macrocosm of human society. We are all effected by the hidden and unaware of it because for most people such things do not enter their thought process.

I myself had some success in following what I identify as future beacons of myself. It's like trying to think in multi-dimensional experiences and hopping from one reality to another based on choices. The problem is so is everyone one else whether they realise it or not.

The Universe and reality can not be fully controlled but only navigated through. Or something like that.

hey folkses....we're going totally off topic here, and I want to apologize to Introvert - (his name is Introvert)
-

you wanted to discuss the protesters. I derailed, and I apologize.

I thought the protesters were acting like immature, belligerent jerks.

It was no different than the "Black Lives Matter" crowd who interrupted Bernie Sanders.

No different from WBC showing up at prominent funerals.

What do you think about it??

And Rubio?
"None of our candidates are a socialist, and none of our candidates is under FBI investigation..[laughter/applause]..although we may be audited, from what I hear, by the IRS."

"You see, in the history of mankind almost anyone that's ever lived, lived in a society where they didn't get to choose their leaders. Their leaders were chosen for them...their leaders was were the king or queen or whoever has more weapons.

Most of the people that ever lived, haved lived in a society where your future economically, your prosperity, depended on who your parents were. If your parents were rich and connected people, well, you got to be rich and connected.

And if they weren't, well then you probably wouldn't be, either."

Does he, or do any of you hear what he is saying?

Like, that's not how it is now? That being rich means you're a-okay, but if not then oh damn well sucks to be you.......

and it's not like having "the most weapons" isn't relevant at this point????

Good Gawd.

I really weep for this country.
I give up. You all win. There's no fighting this sort of rhetoric.

or maybe tomorrow, I'll remember one of my mottos (which is in Night Star's signature):

“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.”

I think the protesters had the right idea in standing for a cause they believe in and it does need to be addressed, but did not do it in an effective way. It was the wrong place and wrong time.

I also believe the moderator handled it well and gave them a chance to have the issue discussed if they only sat down. It appears they were not willing to sit down. That's unfortunate.
