Is bold for someone to do something like this so soon after the attacks.. It's touching but at the same time it was slightly eerie in a way I cant really explain.

As touching as it may be, good emotions don't address problems.

2+2=4...not because of emotion and hugs, but facts.

There are terrorists willing to do Parisians harm, and Americans. Hugs don't stop Jihadis.

To the OP, this has been done before and I find it uplifting. An Aboriginal girl in Australia did the same thing.
