Responding to this post (here). And FYI, that's a lot of CAPS. Makes it hard to read.

America DOES NOT and WILL NOT TOLERATE a person, a gathering, a religion, a small group or an ENTIRE people who sit and DO NOTHING about a problem that THEY!!!! THEM !!!! **** NOT US ***** Allow to CONTINUE !!!!

Oh really? So does this mean you support America finally doing something about the mass shooting epidemic here? More than 320 have happened so far this year. Mass Shootings in 2015

Or the rape epidemic here? Roughly 1 in 6 American women has been or will be raped. What is our country doing to prevent these from happening?

Or the child abuse & child neglect epidemic here? Roughly 5,000 American kids are killed every year through child abuse & child neglect. Where's the "War on Child Abuse" (which I would support)?

And what about the epidemic of drunk driving, the 16,000 plus yearly homicides, the epidemic drug addiction rates, the unchecked HIV/AIDS epidemics, and every other atrocity that happens here on a daily basis?

Those are all far more common & far more likely to kill Americans that Islamic extremism/terrorism! So why are we tolerating those things if "America DOES NOT and WILL NOT TOLERATE a person, a gathering, a religion, a small group or an ENTIRE people who sit and DO NOTHING about a problem that THEY!!!! THEM !!!! **** NOT US ***** Allow to CONTINUE" as you say? Why?! Or do they not count because you don't actually give a crap about people dying or suffering?

Your post reeks of the desire to attack Muslims instead of actually attacking what's harming people. The whole point in my "socialist utopias" theory is because I want everyone to have safe havens where they can avoid this crap. I don't care if people are Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, Jedi, or worship the "divine" swords of Japanese mythology (Shinto?). All suffering and murder is wrong, regardless of who the perpetrators or victims are.

(note: Anyone is welcome in the future socialist utopias as long as you follow our rules & unless you hate chocolate. "Choco-haters" get extra security screenings & must be placed under temporary surveillance because there's just something inherently wrong with not liking chocolate. But carob, japanese akebi/akebia, & other chocolate alternatives are acceptable, so long as you bring me some to "inspect". Yes, chocolate kickbacks will be my form of corruption/bribery. I never said i was perfect so don't judge me, or else i'll up the price)

-----

IF you want to know what America will
Do about neighborhood shootings, campus rape,
Drunk driving, drugs and disease rates, I will tell
You that the American populace will do
EXACTLY NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT IT!

Why? Because those are NOT considered
Existential tnreats to the entire nation while
A small extremist Islamist sect that threatens
bombings on Washington and New York suddenly
IS considered a wide-area national threat!

Statistically, more people die or are severely injured from car accidents (50,000+ per year) than almost any other non-disease related cause but our society has deemed that an acceptible
risk-vs-reward factor, so such a national
slaughter is allowed to continue unabated!

Media desensitization and the it-won't-
happen-to-me effect are other primary factors
that allows the American public to be less afraid
Of cars, campus rape and disease than the
Statistically miniscule likelihood of being affected
By an extremist suicide bomber!

It's a matter of public perception roused by a
Rabid mass media apparatus and a widespread
Suspicion of people who appear to be rabid fanatics themselves!

I.e. They look like nutcases. They sound like nutcases and they say they want to kill us all!
Ergo, what do you EXPECT Americans to think
When exposed to such media presentation?

It just means that BECAUSE of my extensive
Experience of a certain kind, I am quite
well versed in politically motivated crowd
psychology, especially when it comes to
Western and Middle Eastern political and
religious ideology within militaries, executive
leadership and non-secular parties!

This means that I also understand that it
Doesn't take much in America AND in the
Middle East to have populist, if not despotic,
Rulers come into power that would have
NO HESITATION towards using great power
In an indiscriminate manner....AND...I include
the use of nuclear or other great military might
BY the United States if there is enough nationalism
and fiery bluster evoked by an attack on our
shores from parties Demonized as BEING an
existential threat!

This means I would NOT be overly surprised
That the American public becomes roused
and rabid enough to DEMAND a nuclear or
Other widespread military response to a
threat that in daily reality falls around
Number 8073rd in terms of items and events
that MIGHT be lethal to a given person
On any given day!

Me? I just do my job...making sure those
That MIGHT do us harm become permanently
Incapable of doing so....using certain specified
parts of that 600 Billion Dollar A Year War
Machine YOU paid for that is needed to
complete said task....

Do I hate Muslims In General? NO!

What do I hate? Only certain bad ones
Who have decided to make daily life
(or its perception thereof!) miserable
For the rest of us.

What's the actual difference between
A killer Narco-Kingpin and an extremist
Islamist bomber? ANSWER: Nothing!

The PERCEIVED difference is a mere
construct created by a news-hungry
mass media and an easily frightened
general populace who could be goaded
into ALLOWING the commission of
atrocities in reaction to the stoking
of nationalist Fires by an opportunistic
and despotic leadership!

And with that, I leave YOU the general public
With the responsibility of NOT being goaded
Into using using a 20 ton rock to whack a small
Nail on a big board when a simple hammer
would work much better...!!!

False. No US governor has a choice in the matter.
All they are doing is flapping their lips, as politicians are wont to do.

wrong... i was talking about logic.. like if 25 governers say they wont take refugees then they are probably RIGHT.. and wrong again.. the governers may not have a choice but they can make it really hard for the govt to fund refugee movemeng to their states.. so sure, tptb can tell u they will get refugees into texas but it wont be until many years from now bc the state will make it hard as hell.. well alot of states will now..

the ONLY reason why there is so much bull# about this is bc its a religious group! if a small part of ANY other type of organization started killing people.. in the name of the organization.. the NORMAL people would abandon the organization altogether and it would fall apart.. but BC Muslim is a religious group everyone puts it to a different standard.. THE SHEEP IS STRONG IN ALL OF YOU. who cares if its a religious group.. if a small part of justin bieber fans started blowing themselves up he woukdnt have a group of fans anymore.. but if a small part of a religious group is terrorizing the world everyone just holds the # on for the ride lol wtf is wrong with u people lol im catholic and can tell u if the tables were turned id tell u to bomb the vatican and no #in way would i be a catholic anymore.. and please no 1000 year old stories.. lets stick to present day atrocities..whatever.. religion has warped all your minds.. im going to bed.

Some people try to justify their feelings towards muslims by saying that they do not hate us , but they are simply cautious about us .

Yay ! Thanks for that.

You see that guy over there? He's a muzzy . Be cautious. He might just blow up .

Sounds pretty much bigotry to me.

I don't even know what you're trying to argue anymore. I'm not acting like it's not gunna happen, it clearly will happen because people are stupid. I'm simply saying that it's wrong to judge entire groups based on a small portion of that group, whereas you seem to be arguing it's perfectly fine to generalize entire groups of people because we've been doing it since the dawn of time. And having the same skin color or genetic makeup does not automatically "affiliate" someone with a group of people who share similar DNA. They are affiliated by their actions and beliefs, not what they look like or where they were born.

You are absolutely on the money here SkepticOverlord.

This has been getting worse and worse for some time, and the thing of it is, that the same people are making the same statements, with greater and greater volume and frequency, despite having been reasoned with, despite having had their folly explained to them, despite being shown that their actions play into the hands of terrorism and big government alike, which is ironic, considering that most of the loudest voices are self confessed enemies of both concepts.

I grow weary of the same, cyclical discussion on terrorism, every time we have a situation at hand. Believe you me, the topic must be addressed, but nothing gets moved forward if half of a thread is simply ill informed, xenophobic, fear based, hate filled trash. I am sick of having to explain that Muslim is not the same word as Terrorist. I am sick of having to explain that there is a difference between the word "some" and the word "all". I am sick of having to explain to folks who usually have a massive hard on for the constitution of the United States of America, that treating all individuals in a demographic, as if they are guilty of the worst excesses of the worst members of that demographic, is what NAZIS do, and is not acceptable behaviour, no matter where you live, or what you believe about religion.

I am sick of having to explain that allowing our governments to steal and erode what freedom and liberty remain to us in our various nations, as a response to terrorism is a flawed, fundamentally flawed approach, that actions such as these win the battle for our enemies, before the first blows are even struck.

I am sick of the closed minds, empty heads, and total lack of sophistication that comes about when ever serious business is afoot in the world, because it means that conversations which might otherwise lead to interesting solutions, new concepts for change and peace, better understanding between people, these are left on the wayside, while the same tired crap gets repeated, the same chests are beaten, the same red faced, spittle spewing garbage is tossed around.

I am glad I am not the only one who notices these things. Were I not already insane, I might have thought I was going mad for a moment there.

Very well said, it is clear in every vessel of the internet the people on the right side of this issue are the only ones able to elaborate on why in a way that actually holds merit and truth, while the other side seems to consist of 1 sentence check ins, racist rants based off nothing and "you dont know how the world works". I'm glad people have been fighting for this and I hope this at least sways some opinions. Dividing humanity is moving backwards. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of guilty, embarrassed people when this is looked back on years from now

It can not reduced to the simple statement of Islam vs the West. It's radical Islam vs everything else. Their largest victim pool consists of Muslims, not people from the West. It is non specific language such Islam vs the West that muddies the water. Samuel Huntington has a lot to answer for if you ask me, he has placed this theory of the clash of civilizations out there for any fella to grab hold of and make apples out of oranges.

Speaking of tactics, I heard an interesting theory on the radio today, regarding ISIS's timing of attack son soft targets and beheadings..

Just before the Paris attacks, the Kurds had a significant victory over ISIS' by liberating Sinjar in Iraq, the theory is that when ISIS get hit hard on the battlefield in the Middle East, they retaliate on soft Western targets.

Didn't think of this could be true it does make some sense. For ISIL to remain viable they always have to seem like they are making progress to the world caliphate. If people were to see them as weak they lose suppport. Since they always use the west as a model for what's wrong with the world I could see them using that when they need a win. I'm just not sure they plan and we may be giving them to much credit. I suspect their isn't as much communication as we might think just a lot of people with similar beliefs all looking for their way to help their cause

I noticed something with the last ISIL threat they didn't say we're going to do this. Instead they put out a call which Western media happily posted for Muslims in Europe to rise up. Meaning I don't think their is people they can call and say attack this all they can do is out out a request and hope someone that believes what they do will choose to make an attack

Umm, I'm confused. It sounds like you're agreeing with me? Your other post was almost the exact opposite of this one. So which point are you making? It's a little strange to debate someone who seems to be arguing both sides of the issue.

Either way, at least you acknowledged that it's just a small extremist sect do this. And you acknowledged that this is all about the perception of danger, not actual dangers. Which is actually pretty horrible when I think about it...

Because I get peeved when I see people feign outrage about murders only when they're committed by "others". But when far more of our citizens are being killed by our own citizens, that's "acceptable". And the people like me who try to speak out against these crimes & push for nonviolent resolutions are then labeled "weak", "appeasers", etc. As if trying to end the cycle of violence is a bad thing.

I think as a species we are ok with murder well maybe not the right word. We can understand someone killing someone for money or out of anger. It's fine on for thousands of years what we are uncomfortable with is people killing for beliefs they have. Things like terrorism or even mass murderers shock us because this is a person killing others based off what they believe. Like it's ok to kill and eat people or a terrorist it's ok to kill people I'm doing it for god.

I'm continually stunned that when Muslims kill people out of hatred, all these threads pop up to stop the hatred of Muslims. Yet, when some white racist calls someone by a racial slur, it becomes a national news story and everyone is blaming g"white supremacy". In those cases, you NEVER get these threads shaming people for blaming white people, when it was just some lone nut job.

Can any of you explain that contradiction?

The problem is Islam itself. The koran specifically calls for world domination at the hands of islam, killing anyone who stands in the way of that goal.

Im not a fan of ANY religion, especially not ones like the Abrahamic religions that call for the death of non believers, and gives any sort of room for radical behavior like that to crop up....
