So I may be misunderstanding what you are trying to say, but I don't see how this relates at all to what #Freenrgy2 was saying about the core beliefs of Islam.

He was saying that Christianity didn't teach followers to go out and kill non-believers. But it did.

Is it a part of Christian teaching today? Are there Christian churches that are arming their members and teaching them to kill non-Christians if they don't convert to Christianity?

I gave up on religion quite a while back, and I have no love for any of them. They all have violent histories and some still remain violent today, but I didn't know there are Christian groups that are terrorizing and killing people in the name of Jesus, in countries around the globe, still today.

I learn something new every day.

Err yes, there used to be LRA or Lord's Resistance Army that operated out of Kenya and had tentacles in Uganda and Sudan,
The IRA vs Protestant armies were religiously based until a few years ago, there are mass killings of Muslim in CAR from Christian vigilante, And look even Buddhist butcher muslim children in places like Myanmar, while in India Hindus lynched Muslims accused of eating their cow god.

So it is just okay for radical Muslims to kill in the name of their prophets and Gods. They all get a free pass.

So I guess we don't have a problems after all. The Kenyans, the Ugandans, the Buddhist, Hindus and Muslims they are just doing what they have been taught to do, and are being true to their religion, and their Gods.

So all we have to do is love them to death.

The strategy sounds fitting. It is about as sane as sound as religion.

The amount of indiscriminate “Muslim hate” seen here on ATS and especially out in the wide-wide world, is precisely what ISIS/ISIL/Daesh is expecting. We westerners have consistently demonstrated a level of deep stupid in response to violence from radical Islam, that results in rampant Islamaphobia, Muslim hate, bigotry and intolerance. It plays directly into their stated strategy of polarizing Western society and politics, and “destroy the grayzone” (their words) by provoking overreactions against Muslims, so as to radicalize Muslim communities across Europe and North America.

In the context of this “wake the Eff Up” thread, the “you’re all” and “we” are rhetorical. Not everyone is taking the ideological bait, however, far too many are.

The problem is not Muslims, it’s the clash of ideologies of radical Islam with Western culture. And the more we react with stupidity, the more victories we hand ISIS in the battle of hearts and minds.

ATS

Here on ATS, we’ve always strived to stave-off the encroachment of ignorance and intolerance. Sometimes we’ve been successful, sometimes not, and lately; not so much.

It’s easy to paint with broad brushes. After all, it “feels” like not all Muslims are denouncing the actions of ISIS. Well, a few decades ago, not all Christians condemned the bombing of abortion clinics. It’s the nature of narrow ideologies.

Stupid Will Not Be Tolerated

Our staff has held back in the aftermath of the Paris attacks. There’s been a great deal of intolerant stupidity in many threads. While we don’t want to be thought police; on occasion we’re going to need to filter stupid if the trend we’re seeing is not abated.

Please see the issue for what it is; a global battle to provoke youre stupidity.

Don’t paint millions of people with a broad brush of ignorance.

Don’t imply violence against those millions.

Don’t be bigots.

Don’t be stupid.

Be better than the rest of the Internet. This is ATS. We (used to) know how to be better.

Wrong.

170 flags??? Then I noticed that this is the OWNERS thread....and his minions flock just like the minions of IS (without the terrorism)

Been here a day ...

Thanks for your input.

After looking more carefully, this was actually this person's first post on this site, immediately attacking the owner and accusing other users.
Smells like an older member with grudges, posting with a new account to me...

Radicalizing other Muslims is a bonus for them because for them its their version of Islam that is important and a lot of Muslims do not have that ideology.

How about radicalizing Christians/ the West, you think that could be important for ISIS as well? It's the whole premise of this thread and you somehow missed it.

Minions, eh? All those 'ghost drivers' here...

The title says you're being stupid, NOT you are stupid. Calling people out on their behaviour is not the same as labelling the person.

You have to admit, the behaviour is pretty stupid. Hate-mongering, violence mongering, fear generating crap. All designed to trick people into giving up their freedoms.

But yeah, I agree with you. It WOULD be monumentally stupid to fall for the hoax.

What is the difference between the two?

Both are meant to downplay an individual in a negative way. He should have worded it in a more intelligent answer rather than use a word that third graders use. He could have said,"You are acting unethical", "unreasonable", or "unintelligently". But he purposely used the word "Stupid" and that's what bugs me.

It is true that some people on ATS have radical behaviors, that is something everyone can accept and agree on with it. But trying to alienate a certain group of people due to their beliefs... Isn't that what this whole OP is about? Yet the irony shows that both sides are equally guilty if you start calling people's ideas "stupid".

Finally someone who sees sense. At last. Unlike this threads observations.

ISIS was invented and more than likely run by the same people who run and invented Anonymous and other groups. All controlled and played out to a plan!!

I think the message was very clear in the original post and your just picking on a single word that has been used now.
If it doesn't apply to you, why be angry or offended about it?

O h come on man NO! off course not, the point is religious fundamentalism running amok isn't unique to any one faith, knowing this for what it is ,the rest of us non fundies should not let ourselves be pulled into a trap of hating the other..hence DON'T BE STUPID.! for I think there are more of us than them..meaning fundamentalist driven haters of whatever faith or non faith.

However, let's not kid ourselves. There is only one religion in the modern day era that breeds terrorism, and it has reared it's ugly head across the globe.

That's absolutely not correct.

The National Liberation Front of Tripura is an ultra-violent Christian group in India terrorizing (and killing) Hindus.

The Phineas Priesthood is comprised of violent Christians, causing terror, right here in the US.

Antibalaka is a violent Christian group terrorizing Muslims in central Africa.

It disgusts me to be a part of a forum where ANYONE part of it is being called "stupid" by the owner of the site. Sure it might not be pointed at everyone being stupid, but the fact it is there is disturbing.

Well - it's not politically correct - that's for sure

God forbid the owner of the site might say something that doesn't meet with your approval

The point is Islam still has to learn how to properly unite and blot out these fundamentalists, the same way other religions have.

Which religions are those?

There are even fundamentalist Buddhist monks killing other monks.

White Supremacy is steeped in Christianity (more so in the US), and it's far from being blotted out.

It sounds like a sane option to me, compared to the insanity of Total War. That's what we've got, Total War. Foreverever.

And we ought to know by now, that we simply have to try something entirely different if we wanna see other results. Maybe it's time to call this War on Terror what it is: bigotry.

War on Terror, Drugs, Poverty or Pollution - all of them failed miserably. We may need higher levels of understanding or socialisation first before we could end all wars. I dunno... but this constant warmongering on everything seems to be an utterly moronic concept, let's start there?

One or more higher powers sure. Part of that is also the divide and conquer, of hatred and call for fascist like repercussion against all Muslims, we're seeing that is being called out here in the thread subject. The higher powers feed on that. It's exactly what they want to continue the wars to continue the control grid.

Seriously? Maybe I'm reading a different Bible, but I don't see where it says for Christians who follow Christ to go out an murder people if they don't believe. The part I read says to shake the dust from your feet and move on.

In Deuteronomy, you shall be killed if you worship the wrong God. Specifically chapter 17: where God orders the killing of everyone who doesn't believe in him, or even listen to his priests.

In Samuel, God orders the killing of all Amalekites and their livestock.

There's lots of it, as I said.

That's Old Testament stuff.

Christians are under a different covenant and different law: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength and love others as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments".

Thank you chr0naut. Just the fact that it's called the "old" testament should give people a clue, but it doesn't seem to. The New Testament was written in the 1st century, and that tells you how long it has been since the Old Testament has been followed. You can point that out again and again, but whoever chooses to ignore it for their own agenda, will. The point that keeps being made is that some religions straightened out a very long time ago, and the old ways are literally ancient history, while one religion (YES THAT ONE CALLED MUSLIM) remains completely in the dark ages. How far back to you have to dig to compare peaceful religions to Muslim? Should we talk about when we were running around wearing saber tooth tiger loin cloths, praying to the fire God? I'm sure a lot of bad behavior went on back.

Forgive me for being stupid, but all I see is a bunch of excuses for deadly behavior.

Instead of admitting we have a serious problem and trying to tackle the "problem", we are dancing around it. Anytime any one tries to get a bead on the actual vulture, you, among others, throw up a bunch of clay pigeons, using the excuse that we may ruffle the feathers of the nesting birds in the area.

Now to me; that's stupid.
