As to why the U.S. hasn't bombed Raqqa before now: What I've read is that they've held off on that because ISIS is heavily imbedded with civilians there and there was no way to hit them without killing a lot of civilians.

did they get permission from the Syrian govt and can Syria legally strike back?

The attack originated from within Syria's borders, that kicks the door open.

Assad should be grateful he's not being held responsible.

.

By Syria I assume you mean what's left under Assad's control. Since ISIS is attacking him and he has brought in the Russians to help fight them I doubt he's too bothered by the French and the rest of the U.S. coalition bombing them. He's in no position to strike back regardless.

Anyone who wanted to know where the IS had their headquarters in Raqqa could figure it out just by checking out the net and the many reports from the city, it was by no means a secret. It is about 35°56'44.3"N 39°00'39.5"E
Public executions took place at "The Clock Roundabout" right next to it.
Here from The Guardian on the occasion of the drone strike on Mohammed Emwazi better known as "Jihadi John".

"....it remained unclear if any others in the area were hit by the explosion, the strike was in a busy part of the city right beside a traffic intersection known as the clock roundabout. There is also a mosque nearby, a building which has been used as an Islamic court and a public market."
I find it odd no one has linked the two events together, maybe some were pissed and activated one of their cells in the West?

I dread the day the US has what Paris just had... I can't help but think its impossible to stop it... It's scary how ahead of the time the movie The Siege was...

Any civilians living in Raqqa know the risks. If they haven't left already, then they are the enemy. Women and children, bomb them all. Yes, it's ugly, but war isn't a magic unicorn rainbow.

ISIS counts on the weakness of our rules of engagement, soon they will see the terror in the eyes of their comrades when they realize the west will be taking no prisoners. It's time to terrorize the terrorists.

#WesternArmchairWarriorYOLO

In other words, you're no different than ISIS? How can you EVER claim that terrorists attacks like the one in Paris are wrong when you literally just agreed with ISIS's tactic?

Can't see ISIS surving much longer in Syria...

Unfortunately many have travelled from Syria to Europe since Queen Merkel and the rest of the EU allowed them too.

Now they have more space to hide and plan their next target, just like they did in Paris on Friday. Driving through or walking through country to country at will...

If America leaves the ME there will be a lot of parties. America should just go home. They've done nothing to hurt ISIS because America is "containing" ISIS. They've messed up Iraq, messed up Libya and have even been caught supporting ISIS with arms drops. You've been supporting Al Qaeda ( Remember them. The ones who blew up the twin towers etc... ) with arms to their front Al Nusra.

Thankfully Russia is involved now. Just think if Russia was not involved we might of had an ISIS government in Damascus. Was that the strategy Obama? ISIS take over Syria.

So as far as I can see if America goes home that will be a good thing for the ME and America. You should stop fighting these wars 1000s miles from home, because you do not understand other parts of the world including Europe.

There's something in consciousness research known as 'the hard question' (relating to the continuation of consciousness & ego, despite changes in the fundamental biochemistry - changes which render a purely physical explanation for consciousness defunct).

I think you just stated the 'ideological hard question' re: the fundamental #-up known as fundamental Islam. How do we kill a diabolical ideology? We probably need to crush them so mercilessly that nobody ever dares take up arms against non-partakers of their beliefs - so hard that it never, ever rears its monstrous hydra head to terrorise peaceful folk, ever again.

Are we dealing with one of the Beasts described in the Revelations of St John? Taking off one head doesn't kill such a creature - we must strike at the heart, and it would require a monumental, epoch-changing effort to destroy it once and for all. I guess the only way to emasculate the participants of terror of this nature & make them vulnerable to the destruction of their ideology, is therefore to strike at their 'holy' sites, and simultaneously mount a global campaign to destroy all militant Islam wherever it is found - WHEREVER it is found. All women & children, and carefully vetted military age men, who wanted to be integrated with the global community of peaceful folk, would be protected as refugees of terror, and educated with basic global values, with programs rolled out to encourage a grass roots movement of progressive liberalism, instead of various shades & interpretations of Sharia law. We'd need to appropriate the oil wealth of powerful terror sponsors, and with clear, open accounting, perhaps overseen by the UN, make it available for the development of multi-purposed commerical enterprise, which the newly educated, integrated refugees would work in, hopefully having a fantastic effect on the development of global industry & wider social participation by groups of persons who otherwise would have been condemned to misery as a slave of either generational terrorism & warfare, or domestic slavery.

Totally phantasmagoric, but here's hoping.

Then stop threatening us and stop coming over here trying to kill us. Maybe if you wouldn't be a threat, we would you just leave alone but you have to keep going because that's part of your ideology: Yawm al-Qīyāmah or the End of the Day.

ISIS truly believes that they are the savior that will lead humanity into the end of the world - by killing every infidel and everyone that doesn't believe that - even muslims.

So yeah, we don't really like that - and don't like innocent people being slaughtered. So maybe it's time that you give up and consider your defeat. Just round yourself up and blow up your suicide vest - in the middle of the desert. That's what you want anyway, right?

Such a naive view and the last "friend" you want to have is Russia.

Not true. And even if it were, so what?

We're not not leaving the area so they don't "win." We're not leaving the area because dimwit CEOs and their cronies in government bet their money, our money, and our country on it.

Just curious, but do you have the same outrage for the 325 mass shootings that have happened in the US this year? That's at least 1 mass shooting every day. Or do those shootings & murders not count because it doesn't fit your narrative?

Mass shootings in 2015

And for the record, "Yawm al-Qīyāmah" is the event that occurs as the world ends. Only God knows when it will happen & no one can hasten or delay it. It's literally the tearing apart or ending of our dimension which will come immediately before the Day of Judgment. As in, God says "Now"; Angels blow the horn; our reality tears apart; things that are living in our dimension "die" in our dimension; all things that have ever "lived" in our dimension are "revived" in the true dimension; we're judged based on our actions & inactions in our previous dimension ("Judgment Day"); and then the ones who "pass" go to Heaven & the ones who "fail" go to Hell.

Terrorism literally has nothing to do with it.

- France have agreed to work With Russia.... bombig targets in Syria.

- The Uk might start to bomb targets in Syria together With the US. Without the vote of parlament. Tornados are to be used.

- Russia are sending aditional 25 jets to Syria, probably to compensate for the 6 F-15Cs the US are sending.

Something fishy is going on.

According to this article dated nov 6th. France had already decided to deploy their Aircraft carrier to the ME. Appart from that France have been bombing inside Syria since the beginning of Okt. With their six Rafale jets stationed in the United Arab Emirates and the six Mirages flying out of Jordan.

Now: Why is Our media saying that France just got involved after this last terror attack in Paris France on Friday? when they have been involved all along in Iraq and in Syria since the beginning of oktober?

ANd implaying that they now will send the carrier. It was already to deploy anyway?

Article: www.thelocal.fr...

France to deploy biggest aircraft carrier to Gulf

Published: 06 Nov 2015 10:05 GMT+01:00

France is to deploy its biggest aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf as the country's armed forces step up their campaign against Isis in the Middle East.

This is from nov 6th. This means that France had already decded to step up their campaign before this terror attack took Place.

The French presidency on Thursday said it would deploy its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to boost its operations against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

Thursday would be the nov 5th. 8 days before the terror attack in Paris?

Why are we being given the impression that the terror attck in Paris France is the cause for France's getting involved? WHen it is not.
