Paris shooting: Several 'killed and injured after shootout' in French restaurant

hostages taken, or so they say

So far at least 18 dead, but they haven't yet raided the theater where there was a lot of shooting, and the shooters are (presumably) still inside. There will probably be a lot dead inside.

They think that the explosions at the stadium were grenades, and there is body parts spread around (so impossible to tell how many dead there, of course).

I've been posting for days, that we have an "explosive" situation brewing here....I wish I had been wrong.

Reports that hostages have been taken at a different location - a concert hall. Police are reporting multiple acts of violence in and around Paris.

Sounds like a co-ordinated attack. This is just Awful.

According to our local media, there are two shootings in different places and one explosion.

It is a nightmare.
Just thinking about the potentially high number of innocents is sickening.

I fear the numbers..

CNN is saying 4 different attacks right now.

Apparently there's three attacks, bombing with grenades, shooting, and taken hostages at a theatre. I don't even want to think what they will do to those poor hostages.

And not one mention of terror - ism - ists, yet? C'mon Main stream! I mean, bombs are falling in several nations as we speak, nary a bleep. You just know when all the main stream make news channels simultaneously go live on an "incident" that its going to be another chapter in the War on Terror.

This is what all nations have been fearing, a Mumbai style terrorist attack.

This is the most devastating form of attack because it's roaming and indiscriminate, and it spreads fear throughout a city while stretching all resources to the limit.

Most governments have been fearing this for years, ever since Mumbai.
